I purchased these for various reasons. One was to use under a plant. It got wet, warped and broke. Not sturdy or practical at all. More for indoor decoration. The bottom feels like particle board or cardboard.

These are so nice looking, I really like the wood look (I chose the unfinished color). They aren't the most sturdy bins in the world, but I'm not keeping anything particularly heavy in them so I'm absolutely using them for actual storage. The second largest one fits records in it perfectly, but records are a bit heavy if anyone decided to try to lift the bin. One or two look great sitting out though! I'm thrilled that they don't look like ugly plastic bins laying around. I've got them all over the place, kitchen, pantry, living room, they kind of go with any décor that has wood accents. Can definitely be stained to match other stuff too, though I kind of like how they contrast with my stained wood pieces. ... show more

I'm a collector of all kinds of containers, boxes, baskets, crates and tins so when I saw these nesting boxes/crates in whitewash I had to have them especially since I'm doing a remodel and much of our furnishings and paint has the whitewashed look. These are well made and nest perfectly inside each other. They came well packaged so as not to rub against each other and rub paint off or do any damage. The largest is 12 inches wide by almost 16 inches long and 6.5 inches deep and the smallest is 6 inches wide, 10 inches long and 4 inches deep.They are great for decorating or actual use, as I am using one in my pantry to corral certain loose items. The 4 crates are just the right sizes. I will use the larger ones for craft supplies. They'll be perfect for burlap rolls or rolls of mesh ribbon. I plan to turn the 2 smaller ones on their sides and attach to the wall with the bottom of the crate against the wall. Maybe place a few pictures or faux plants inside.
