I ordered this as a gift for my 9 month old niece. As an infant that is mostly interested in boxes rather than gifts, she immediately took to this set and began exploring by gripping and feeling the textures, and of course putting pieces in her mouth. I loved that this is made of wood and all the pieces are well smoothed and well painted. There are lots of holes so when she is a little older she can try to sort shapes or "plant" the carrots in a hole or push a little wormy through a hole. My brother works at a Montessori and attended that school as a child, and he liked the toy as well. I was a bit surprised that the worms were rather small, boarder line a choking hazard but probably just larger at I estimate 2'' long (see photo). I would certainly suggest supervising your child or maybe removing the worms until you feel comfortable your child won't try to swallow it. As a mother of three children over the age of seven, I would want this toy for my child but would follow my recommendation above. ... show more

This is an absolute perfect gift for kids. It helps with fine motor and matching skills. We also use it as a talking tool explaining that food does actually grow in the ground and it has gotten the kids excited for spring and gardening. Small toddler loved it. The carrots and fruits are easy to grab for little ones that have small hands. The bunny also has a magnet at the bottom that I didn't even know was there until I watched them play. The magnet picks up the little worms. Super cute. This is fun...the vegetables and worms fit through specific holes. A little tough for an 18 month old, but she still loves it and will grow into the matching ability needed!
