The cotton is very thick and durable, and you can truly feel how sturdy and well-constructed it is. The double steel boning gives it excellent structure and support while still feeling comfortable. This is super high quality and great for the price. I don't think there's a better find on amazon for corsets. It really does cinch your waist and is super heavy duty. Unlike a lot of listings, this is genuinely steel-boned. I have never owned a true corset or waist cincher before- other than cheap ones with plastic boning. This is made with durable material, is very well made, and works. This corset is short enough to be worn over clothing and look part of an outfit, is very comfortable to sit in. I couldn't be happier, I will definitely be buying again!

The quality of the zipper isn't the best. Sometimes when I was putting it on the zipper would come undone. I had only wore it twice when I went to tie my shoes and the zipper broke. It may have been my fault but I will say the quality of the zipper couls be better.

I have owned very high quality (10/10) corsets, and costume mimics (1/10). This corset (8/10) has strong stays, strong front closure, long strings (important because I'm trying to hold my liver in, as it seems determined to hang out!). I did pull an eyelet out when closing it for the first time, I will need to attempt to repair it on someone else once I have some assistance adjusting the laces perfectly. This corset is designed to be applied by the wearer alone (you can cinch yourself up), but I recommend having assistance the first time so that your laces stay even. When you unlace yourself let tension out the middle but try to keep the top and bottom as still as possible, and unlatch the front as soon as you are able. I find bottom up the easiest. Then when you go to put it on the next time, pulling your laces is mostly the center you are cinching down. Don't be too critical of yourself, it won't feel tight evenly. The center tightness is what makes the hourglass. I purchased 2 skirts, 3 blouses, a corset, waist cincher, and a double breasted vest, with the idea they are the foundation pieces to a full costuming wardrobe. I can mix and match, the skirts can be worn together as well as separately. The blouses and overgarmets allow a variety of styles! My ideas: Garden witch (dark pointy hat, wand, dark boots), fairy matron (flower crown, basket, pointy ears, wings), steampunk (goggles, medals, gears, top hat, stashbook, gloves), renaissance (basket, stash belt, parasol), pirate (handfan weapon, short sword, boots, wonky hat, booty belt equipped with liers dice and mug), hedgewitch (pocketed cape equipped with tarot deck and runes, staff, snap poppers)

So I took the chance and bought this cincher without valid reviews to inform me. And for the price, it's amazing. The four heavy steel rods for the front and laces are great, but the rest of the boning is kinda flimsy. Still, it's stronger than regular lingerie boning. However, the corset is A LOT shorter than the picture makes it look. Check out the dimensions, it's SEVEN inches in the front. The picture makes it look twice as tall. And this green was more of a regular green than the dark green you see. But I bought it for a Poison Ivy outfit, so it should work. The rope it comes with has too much give. It's more like stretchy shoelace. It does the job, though. It doesn't just loosen up after I've tightened the corset. I can let go of the strings and still have the corset tight. I mean, you can just buy some rope or tougher shoelace to re-lace it with. But I'm keeping what it came with. For a costume corset, I'm not going to be too picky. So that's the real facts. If you're looking for a short cincher for cheap, then go for it. Just be aware that it's an easy corset, may possibly be a different shade than advertised, and has stretchy laces. Ok, I'm sounding terribly sarcastic, but I'm really not. For $20, this corset is well worth it. The boning is moderately strong, so it's great for beginners. It still cinches you in for that houglass figure. I love mine, I'll use mine, and I'll recommend this brand again. Now, as you can see in the picture, since the corset is so short, I'm muffin-topping at the top. It falls well below my bra, so there's nothing keeping that part of my body in. If you set the corset higher, you'll have your waist in the wrong place. And I'm 5'4", size large. If you've got a long torso or are of average-tall height, you need to think of how this will sit on your body. I'm probably going to put on an elastic body cincher--the kind you can buy at any Walmart or Target--to sit right under my bra in order to make up for what the corset can't reach. But it's workable. I also included a shot comparing the face of the corset to my hand-size. And I don't know why it sits off-center. Maybe the laces are pulling to one side? I mean, I laced myself up, so... Either way, for $20, it does well.
