Received sooner than expected. Package had minor damage, but parts were okay except for one edge on a bottom piece which shows not at all. The instructions are horrible, consisting of little more than an exploded diagram. An experienced assembler can figure it out, but not so easy for a novice. It is however a very sturdy and beautiful piece of furniture when complete. (Take your time. Give yourself lots of room. Lay out all the pieces and don't rush.) Excellent bookcase. Nicely packaged. Easy to assemble. Pre drilled holes all match. Only had a few tiny but understandable scratches. And very important, it holds heavy books, does not sag, has versatile shelves and looks beautiful. Lousy shipping, however. I could not take away a 5-star rating for this excellent bookcase, just because the shipping company was confusing and late. The one compliment to the shipping guy, when he finally arrived was at least he was considerate enough to place the item where I wanted it. ... show more

I love these bookcases. They have a wonderful dark cherry, satin finish. They are sturdy and easy to put together. We have received two and are ordering another as well as two 6 foot cases from the same supplier and manufacturer.     • Very good shelf unit. Not easy reading instructions
Very easy to assemble. With my roommate, it took about an hour to make. The instructions were not the best. You definitely had to infer a bit of information by yourself. But it was still doable. Currently we have our heavier items on the outside of the shelves so that no sag begins to form. I've had this for about 4 months now and as long as you take care of your belongings then this shelve seems to last. ... show more

    • It arrived damaged
The bookcase is very heavy and the ends arrived damaged. The seller, Shoplet replaced the damaged parts and it is a very nice bookcase.
