My dog gets up almost every night for a potty trip and I am not comfortable taking him out in the dark. He is a Dachshund that squats to pee. I put the 35"x23" tray on the deck and it works great for those nighttime trips. He has plenty of room took to it right away. I like that it came with 2 patches of grass so it can be easily exchanged to be cleaned and dried. I took the tray and grass off the deck out by the faucet. I left the grass in the tray and put some dish soap on it, used the hose with a squirter nozzle on it to agitate and rinse. Then hung it over the deck rail to dry and put the other grass pad back in the tray. It drained and dried quickly. It came out nice and fresh. My plan is to wash it a couple times a week to keep it fresh. ... show more

I bought 3 of them and made a large indoor area with plastic flowers/fire hydrant for my elderly Pekingese to use on snowy days. The grass quality is impressive. I have used other rolled turf products to cover my balcony, but these are thicker and denser. The 6 panels fit well, so she can’t feel seems and I can take up each panel for cleaning in the shower. I ditched the trays and replaced with thicker potty pads. (The pictures make it seem there is a variance in color. There is not. I just didn’t have them all with the grain going the same direction) ... show more

    • Great. But think about clean up

This is a great idea if you’re in an apartment with a puppy but if you don’t have the time to clean the grass and plastic daily, keep in mind it stinks. Maybe that’s obvious, but also, think about if you have to take it indoors to clean. Your apartment will stink. I’m the idiot who tried that approach and had to air out my apartment all day and deep clean to make sure nothing smelled like pee. I’m on the second floor of my apartment and have to throw it, along with the pee in it, over the edge of my patio to wash it with the hose outside. I will say though, if you have a convenient way to clean it outside, it’s great. I just started putting a layer of kitty litter between the plastic and the grass to soak up pee and the smell so it’s easier to clean and not smelly. I do really like it but the cleaning is a bit of a process ... show more

    • No grate or anything between the cheap grass and the tray. Not well made.

I have one that I'm using for puppies now and it has a spacer grate between the grass and they tray. Makes for easier clean up and less odor. We use the charcoal pads under the spacer. Works well. This one is two pieces of fake grass that sheds and nothing between that and the tray. Overpriced for what it is. ... show more
