  • PERFECT jeans for the athletic body type.
I normally wait quite a bit to leave reviews on products but these jeans are just way too perfect to not spread the word. I train a lot and have so for the past 14 years. finding jeans that fit well and look nice has been the biggest hurdle ever. These 541 stretch jeans are the best I have ever had. After trying them on I purchased two more pairs. For reference, I am 6'3" 285 lbs. The 34 inseam in absolutely on point. If you're on the fence about these, buy them. For the price, you can not go wrong. ... show more

  • Different colors fit differently
I bought these pants in "The Rich - Stretch" and "Rigid Dragon - Stretch" colors, same size. I chose these two colors in part because they are listed as having the same blend of materials, which is confirmed by the tags on the pants as 99% cotton, 1% spandex (you'll notice looking through the descriptions that some of the "colors" of 541 on here have very different blends). So here I'm getting two "colors" of what should otherwise be the same pants - same 541 cut, same 31x30 size, same blend of materials. That is not what I got. "The Rich - Stretch" fit exactly as I was expecting - a comfortable amount of room in the seat and thigh but not loose fitting, tapered at the bottom of the leg so it sits well on running shoes (the reason I chose the 541 cut over others). "Rigid Dragon - Stretch" fits very differently. The waist and seat are so tight I can barely put the pants on, and the thigh is uncomfortably tight as well. The calf/ankle is also clearly tighter. Overall the Rigid Dragon fits more like a 511 than a 541 (I tried on various styles of Levi's jeans in a store, only didn't buy in store because they didn't have the 541 in my size in stock). I can squeeze into the Rigid Dragon 541s but I wouldn't choose to wear them. Very disappointing to see such a stark difference between two different "colors" of what should be the same pants. Levi's shouldn't be labeling both of them as 541 with such a significant difference in fit. I got two pairs of each and the sizing was consistent between each pair of the same color so I don't think it's just a defective pair. If I were comparing two 541s of different material blends I might expect different amounts of shrinkage from washing/drying, but considering that these two I chose were the same blend that shouldn't come into play. Overall I'm happy with The Rich but disappointed that the vastly different fit of Rigid Dragon means I won't be trying other "colors" of 541. ... show more

  • Rigid/Stretch in Color Name?
Fit Type: Regular Color: Rigid Dragon Size: 33W x 32L
I have several 541s and really like them. I just bought a "Rigid Dragon" and thought the "Rigid" was just part of the color name, but I see that the fit is less, or even not 'stretchy' at all compared to my other 541s. The fit is just as athletic, but a bit more bulky without the stretch (less spandex and polyester in the thread). If buying "Rigid" color without "stretchy" in the name, I would size down 1-2". Now I see "stretchy" as part of many color names; I guess this is to differentiate them. Point is, if you're buying a "Rigid" color without "stretchy" in the name, it will have more of a sandpaper feel. That could be good or bad, depending on your taste. I think that Levi should separate these into different numbers, since they fit entirely different. On that note, if anyone at Levi is listening - bring back the 508s! Again, I love these jeans. I am rating 4 stars only because of the color name and fit discrepancy. ... show more

  • Every day is leg day
I love the new 541 fit. I got three pairs of the Rigid Dragon that I rotate through because I don't like making decisions about my clothes. Combined with a nice polo or a button down, these make a fairly acceptable work uniform. A sports coat looks great with these if I have a meeting with bigwigs or something. I've always had fairly large legs, so I was intrigued when I found these in some mall store. I can't get a lot of jeans for normal people over my calves, so I've previously been resigned to the "husky fit" which makes me look like even more of a fat kid. I regularly squat and deadlift, and these are the most acceptable fitting pair of jeans in my price range. The front pockets fit a Galaxy SII comfortably. They have YKK zippers. The only think I would change is increasing the number of belt loops in the back. Wash: Zippered and buttoned, inside out, cold/cold/cold, after about a weeks worth of wearing. My legs don't sweat or get gross sitting in my air conditioned corporate 5x5 half-walled cube-hell, so they don't really smell like anything at all after a week. ... show more

  • Levi's 541's give me Life!!!
As a big guy (a.k.a., a Fat A**), it's really hard to get jeans that make me look as good as possible, given my circumstances. Either (a) if they fit, they're too loose, either falling off the butt, or with legs that look like stovepipes (not a modern look!), or (b) if they fit legwise, they're unflattering in the stomach area, or cut into my waist, making wearing them torture. I almost wrote off jeans, until I read reviews for these guys. I'm glad I risked purchasing them. They fit like a glove, but are incredibly comfortable, and make me look good, with just the right length and legs that are NOT like a stovepipe (could be a *little* more tapered at the ankles, but MUCH better than any other jeans I wear, by orders of magnitude). Warning--some of the colors are 99% cotton, 1% Elastane (like the ones I got, Blue Canyon, and Rigid Dragon). These might be less forgiving size-wise (less stretch), but I lucked out, and these fit fine (just have to not pick up any more pounds!). Others are a 98/2% mix, and are more stretchy. If in doubt, go one size up. Bottom line: Buy these Jeans, now! ... show more
