The Levi's pictured are the same style number, same fabric, the only difference is their age. Those on the left are 8 years old and those on the right are 2 weeks old. My husband has been wearing this 511 style for decades and these I recently ordered show the same longevity, durability, quality denim, metal zipper and button as every pair we've ever purchased. These jeans take a beating and only get better looking with age. He's a heavy equipment operator for a surface coal mine and these jeans are worn everyday, some are worn multiple days in a row. They come home black from coal dust, smell like diesel fuel, and when it rains they are splattered and caked with the hardest clay the earth produces. It literally dries hard as concrete and I have to beat them against a porch post to break it loose. The only special treatment they received for laundering is to be washed separately from the rest of the laundry and last to ensure that none of the dirt and oil residue is transferred to other loads. He also wears them when not working and no one would ever know or believe the abuse they endure.

Ah Yes, Levi's are THE standard. No matter what I buy, Levi's are my go to. With this said, the 511's fit me well, no Clown like baggy legs. Maybe a tad snug on the legs after washing but they stretch just a bit after a couple hours and fit me well. I have 3 colors of the 511 Levi's. New khaki, Dark Olive, and Blue ( don't know which blue though ) . The good; they all fit about the same, good fit as expected and of course Levi's. Slight stretch for my changing waste line. many colors to choose from. The Things I noticed; 3 colors, 3 different materials. New Khaki 511; are rougher feeling on the outside and stiffer than the others, less stretch. This may go away as washed but that will be seen. Inside is nice and smooth, so for wearing that's what matters. The back of the waist on this pair is slightly lower so and myself tugging it up, but after a couple hours of wear it stretches a tad and fits. I like these. Dark Olive 511; Smooth outside, soft inside, decent stretch, not stiff at all. I like the material a lot. Color is just slightly more green than expected, but I like it. Think might be my favorite material on these. Wish I knew which other colors are made with this same material! Blue, 511 ; This material is more what I expect with Levi's. Exterior not too rough, inside good, comparatively a medium stretch. My favorite fit and color. A Win. Bottom line; I'll but more these. Each color is like having a different type of pants but knowing they'll fit!

These jean fit really nice and the colors great but .... What the description doesn't show are the made wrnes in the jeans up in the lower front pocket area. I just think that when you buy jeans that needs to be disclosed up from it because I'm looking for a solid pair of jeans that can be also used with upscale casual shoes and a shirt. Great jeans but way more on the casual side that makes it a bit unpolished.

I had thought that with a 40 inch waist, the legs would still look super baggy. They look great! The waist is a bit loose but I don't know if I could stand to go down 2 inches and don't know how much skinnier the legs would be in a smaller size. They are fine with a belt. When I ordered these, I also ordered Wrangler cowboy slim fit. Those were much baggier in the legs, didn't seem slim at all, but the waist was more true to size. The color "it's all good" is a nice dark rinse.
