I absolutely hate buying Levi's 505s from Amazon. The size inconsistencies is ridiculous! I had to create an Excel spreadsheet to keep track to see what could be causing such inconsistencies and AFAICT, it depends on the countries of origin, as each country seems to use a different pattern to create the 505s, even for the same color/style! If you want a nice, comfy fit, you need to hope that Amazon sends you jeans made in Pakistan, Mexico, and China. If you want a tighter fit, hope that your jeans are made in Lesotho, Egypt, or Haiti. (Exception, Solid Black will be tight no matter what, that's just the style) I came up with this conclusion after purchasing dozens of 505s from regular Amazon and Prime Wardrobe, and returning the ones I didn't like. Not exactly scientific, but it's what I found so far. Because I can't choose the country of origin on Amazon, and because these Levi's size inconsistencies even exist in the first place, I give this entire product/experience 1 star because it sucks.

WTF Levi's, WTF. I've bought and worn 505s for decades and have always been more than satisfied. I received these and right away noticed something wrong. They didn't feel right. Upon putting a pair on, as someone else posted, it felt like I was wearing light Khakis. Not not LL Bean's Khakis either, Khakis from Target. I checked the labels of these 505s with my previous purchase and they were made in the same factory. Whereas previous pairs of 505s were typically 12-14 oz. denim these felt more like 6-8 oz. After a bit of research I'm not the only one that has come to this conclusion. And why the hell did Levi's LOWER the waistband?????? After a bit more research I found that Wangler still males a lot of there jeans with 12-14 oz. denim. Bought some, love them. Goodby Levi's, hello Wangler. Update. I bought some 505s direct from Levi's and they are everything I expected. The only conclusion I can come to is the pairs I bought from Amazon were,counterfeit.

I wear Levi’s, Lee, Wrangler, Dickies, and Rustler jeans. These Levi’s that i purchased from Amazon are the same quality that are found in Kohl’s or any other retail store. I don’t see a difference. Of the five brands that I own, Levi’s and Lee are the best quality, but Wrangler, Rustler, and Dickies aren’t far behind. I especially like the large metal zipper that Levi’s jeans has. It’s really handy to have a large zipper that is just the right size. I like the Lee jeans raised label which can be used as a sixth belt loop. All in all, Lee and Levi’s are my favorites although Wrangler and Dickies are also well made and stylish, and Wrangler jeans are usually cheaper than either Lee or Levi’s. Rustler jeans are a good value for the money. I am happy with my 3 pairs of Levi’s jeans that I got from Amazon and would not hesitate to order them again. Levi’s, Lee, Wrangler, Dickies, and Rustler all have their good points and are worth the money. I think that choosing any of those brands would be a good choice.

Add me to the list of folks giving 1 star to what was a 5 star product, and I'll be returning these. The denim and construction are as good as ever, the fit is not as comfy but probably acceptable, belt loops also a step in the wrong direction - but inch and a half shorter pockets? Are you mad? Jeans are supposed to be practical, and decent pockets for guys to carry stuff in has always been part of that. In particular, I've always kept my phone in a front pocket, since I don't like cracked screens, and my regular (not plus) iPhone 6 just barely fits now. Phones are getting bigger, not smaller, and I don't think I'm unusual in not carrying my phone in a back pocket. Levi's, if you're listening - I have literally never bought another brand of jeans since the late 60's - and that was growing up in Ireland where they were harder to find and a bit pricy. I intend to see if I can find one of your styles that is close to the 505 but with proper pockets, if not I guess I'll break down and try another brand. And let me know if you intend to revisit this 505 redesign and right the wrongs.
