  • Levis 501 Original Fit. Color The Rose - Stretch.
Jeans came in well packaged with all tags and stickers. The Rose color/wash is 99% cotton and 1% spandex, so while it does have a little flexibility, it is not a big stretch that makes the jeans feel flimsy… in fact, after the initial wash in cold water, it felt pretty stiff and cardboard-like and ballooned a bit around my hips and seat. Far more than my 514s straights. A couple days wear has softened and broken in the denim a bit and the fitting is more to the natural structure of my body now. As with any jeans with substantial denim material, you will need to be a little patient and wear them. These are not ‘shrink to fit’ jeans like the Rigid wash. I ordered my normal size, and it fits well, if maybe a little initial snugness around the waist until the denim lose its initial stiffness. Only took about a couple days to do that, so now, the fit is comfortable. Haven’t worn 501 Original fit since my college days, (lets just say its been awhile), but these jeans have the same roomy comfort feel that I remember. I normally wear slim straights, (mostly Lee Legendary line), as a reference, and these are pretty loose on me. Very nice and enjoying them so far. Recommend them. ... show more

  • The Gold Rush of Denim
There’s a strange poetry to the way certain objects become embedded in the culture. Like a key that opens something far bigger than you expected. And if there’s one item of clothing that’s done that more than almost anything else, it’s Levi’s 501 jeans. You know them. Everyone knows them. The number itself—501—is practically a legend. A claim to something more than just denim. It’s the kind of number you’d see on an old gold-mining claim. The thing that started it all. The foundation. Levi Strauss wasn’t out there looking for gold, but in some ways, that’s exactly what he found. Because these jeans are something you don’t just wear. They’re something you inherit. They’ve lived a thousand lives before they even touch your legs. And when you put them on, you feel the weight of it. It’s like stepping into a legacy of men who built America with their hands, their sweat, their grit. And that—that—is not lost on you. The 501s have been around since the days of the Gold Rush, worn by miners and cowboys, soldiers and laborers, roughnecks and rebels. They’ve seen things. They’ve been places. They’ve survived hard labor, tough winters, long nights of uncertainty. Maybe you’ve never mined for gold or fought in a war, but when you button up those jeans, you can’t help but feel connected to those who did. There’s something elemental about them. The blue denim is like the color of a deep, unspoken sky, one that has seen everything and held its peace. But beyond the history, beyond the weight of their heritage, there’s the way they fit. The button-fly, which, let’s face it, makes you feel like you’re in a John Steinbeck novel—somewhere between The Grapes of Wrath and The Outsiders, like a kid on the cusp of something big but unsure of how it’s going to go. They’re a little bit rebellious, a little bit nostalgic, a little bit tough. You slide them on, and it’s like taking a step into that world—where the world’s a little harder, a little less forgiving, but you wear it with confidence. Sure, they’re not the most comfortable thing when you first get them, but that’s part of it. You wear them in. They get better, like an old leather jacket or a favorite pair of boots. Over time, they become a second skin. And like any good thing worth waiting for, they remind you that effort, endurance, and a little discomfort are what lead to something that feels real. The cut? It’s a classic. Straight-leg. Timeless. You could dress them up with a blazer or throw on a vintage tee, but they’ll always have that air of rebellion about them—like they’ve been through things you’ll never fully understand. They’re not fashionable—no, they transcend that. They’re iconic. They don’t need to follow trends because, honestly, they set them. It’s like having a piece of history in your closet, waiting to be worn, to be earned. If you ever felt like a character in The Outsiders—a little out of place, a little misunderstood—you’ll understand why these jeans feel like a rite of passage. Like the tough but heartfelt soul of America, handed down through the years, stitched into denim. They might not dig for gold anymore, but they’re still mining something priceless: authenticity. ... show more

  • What can I say, these are Levi’s ♥️
I bought these jeans for the hubby and the material, fit, length and comfort is what you would expect from the Original 501 jeans - AWESOME! These are 💯 % denim (which makes us happy), so don’t expect any stretch. Be sure to read the description and specifications before ordering. Levi’s does carry jeans with and without stretch. So happy to be able to buy real, not fake, Levi’s from Amazon! Thanks! ... show more

  • Good jeans, waist is small
All other jeans I get from Levi fit me with a 34 waist. This style are the only ones that run small. Make sure you go up a size in the waist

  • It's Jeans. It's Levi's 501.
The Levi's 501 is hands down one of the most classic and affordable jeans. Every bit of my 501 tells a story: the v-shaped yoke, copper rivets, the 5-button fly, the iconic two-horse patch, and the signature arcuate stitching. Also the cut and fit are great! Mid-rise, straight-leg, and natural-indigo-dyed. No nonsense. No extreme high-rise or low-rise, no awkwardly skinny leg, no floppy sloppy wide or extra-wide, no crazy taper or flare. It's just classic. Although my dark wash pair is initially rigid with no stretch, it is comfortable to wear as it has enough room to move around, and the fabric softens up after one year's beating. Listen guys, I don't need any of the trend-chasing jean propaganda. I just need this, and this is it! ... show more

  • Not "skinny jeans" these are old school, loose fitting jeans.
Wearing these today. Same for as always for 501. I like these because I have a healthy butt and these fit my waist while giving me room in the crotch and butt are. I like the pocket location. I expected them to shrink. I wear 34W 32 L on most pants. Got these at 36W 34L to fold the legs. Waist fits well without a belt. Length worked out for a thin 2 fold or 1 thick fold YOU CAN NOT WEAR THESE AS "TIGHT PANTS\SKINNY JEANS. There's no stretch to these. I'm guessing that's how they rip for the people giving bad reviews. I don't think these are thinner than they always have been but, I've always been to broke to buy expensive clothes. I've had much thinner denim jeans and jackets. ... show more

  • Does not fit my caboose
The item was too big for me, and this is not necessarily because of me being big (since I choose the same W x L for other varieties) but it's how the garment was designed, which was over 150 years ago before the advent of people sitting on their butt all day. Yeah I said it! You can't have a big butt and still wear these. So if your waist is big, expect 0% give. They're made very closely to their old design as possible, including the button fly (no zipper). A shame because they are made extremely well. ... show more
