The author of this journal (Monica Sweeney) has an amazing sense of humor. I was gifted this journal in my Easter basket by my mother. I'm 34. The author touches on various aspects of your life worth reflecting and well... letting go of. She provides self reflecting activities one can do, leaves space for written reflection, uses quotes from several notable people such as Emily Dickenson, Trevor Hall, J.K Rowling... my fav quote next to Monica's is Staceyann Chin's quote lol... This whole book is a vibe and just lightens up your mood *smiles... the use of color is so uplifting... there's quite a bit of f bombs but free yoself.... curse a little lol...   • For People Who Have A Decent Life Already
I wanted this to be better than it was for me. I'm not going to give it a directly negative review, but if you're like me and your life is 98% bad with very little good, this can actually make you feel worse. A lot of prompts will ask you to list positive things, etc and it can be really saddening to sit there like 'but there isn't anything that makes me happy'. If you have good things in your life to list, this will probably work a lot better for you. If you're in a very dark time, it might be better to look elsewhere first and come back to this when things hopefully eventually look up. ... show more

Using humor and a good dose of swearing even though I don't care much for that this is gently getting me to be kinder to myself, to feel less anxious so it was more than worth the price.
