After the first time through the washing machine, the blue velveteen started fuzzing off just a little bit, but it held together pretty well (I did not put it in the dryer). I bought this for me to wear to my great niece's princess themed birthday party. It is perfect! Very well made, nice material, surprisingly great details. I am overweight and it was not tight. There are ties that allow adjustment for curvier women. Material has a velvet like feel and thus can be subject to static. Overall I like it very much. You feel like you've been transported in time. Other ladies of different heights and sizes purchased same dress in different colors but none of us felt like we had the same dress. Because of the lacing I think it will work for a variety of shapes. I am usually a size 12/14 and I ordered the XX-lg. I had room but the lacing helped fit better.
