If I remember right, this is actually the first, or one of the first Super Mario themed LEGO sets that was finally NOT tied to LEGO's Super Mario game thing. No doubt everyone is still dying for some stand alone Super Mario sets that would have official Super Mario minifigures though, lol... But anyway, this is a great little set that any Super Mario fan would love to have. At least, I think so. It's not too challenging and not super simple either. However, my favorite thing about it is how well it works as a display piece. Anyway, I can't really think of much else to say about the Super Mario Piranha Plant that hasn't already been said. Very cute, very fun, and the little coin easter egg is especially charming. Cheaper than a lot of comparable Lego sets, which is surprising given that it surely has the "Nintendo" tax applied. I don't like the use of custom pieces in Lego sets, it feels like a cop-out to avoid creative solutions sometimes, but this set takes advantage of the custom pieces to REALLY look like the video-game model, so the detail is appreciated in this instance. ... show more

A VERY cool display piece, a very fun build, and a wonderful piece of gaming history that was beautifully envisioned within the Lego art form. People often comment on it and like to pick it up and look closer, but thankfully it is designed to be durable enough to handle that kind of thing! Perfect size for a wall shelf, bookshelf, bedside table, or desk! I also think this set would go AMAZINGLY well with the Mario Kart set or even the Blue Koopa Shell set! ... show more

Another Lego win! Great price, instructions are clear, easy to assemble, the flower detaches from the plant and goes back in with ease, so since this build went well, the plant is durable for that reassembly without issue, no pieces fall apart when the flower goes back in. No missing pieces.

Super fun build! Love the little compartment on the bottom its such a fun idea!! It was fairly easy. Took about 40 mins maybe. I'd say definitely worth the price!!
