  • You can't go wrong, just installation is a pain
One of the best purchases ever. They came in a small box and straight out of the box you were ready to install, nothing really to it, power to power, ground to ground. GREAT variety of colors and options, they perform like no other, especially for the price, but the installation for my 06' Dodge Charger was a nightmare, fuse box is in the trunk, and power was almost impossible to find (rigged it to the drivers power seat), mounting them wasn't easy, but not impossible. (the 3M tape that came for the little box didn't work at all for me ended up using velcro strips) As far as brightness they are impressive, pretty bright at night no complaints there Day you can barely see them (for obvious reasons) not really a complaint The sound dancing option is great, but I listen to a lot of trap or fast paced music, so sometimes I have to turn it up pretty loud for it to catch most of the beats, also has a strobe limiting option so you don't have a seizure while driving. It's also a little delayed on the beat flashes, but not too far off to where it's annoying, but I can hardly complain at all on that. Don't know about the legality of these, but sitting outside of the car it's difficult for anyone to see the reflection of the light if it's only in the foot wells, so likely they won't even notice it. Unless they're in a much higher vehicle than you. If they do, it's not that distracting while driving. Gets looks everywhere, also it's awesome on battery life, I accidentally left them on when I worked a 9 hour shift, NO drain to my battery at all, started up fine and lights were still going strong. Friends think it's awesome, and the pulsing color changing option is my favorite, great buy, just really difficult to install for my model car, prepare the zip ties and tape. Even more difficult if you have no experience in cars, wiring, or any of that. ... show more

  • Not perfect but pretty dang good
Recently purchased the LEDGlow RGB kit. I intend to use the kit in a refurbish project on an old antique radio cabinet (turning it into a modern touchscreen jukebox), and these lights will be used to color wash the wall behind and below. First kit I got, one tube had half the blue LED's burnt. I emailed the seller, who promptly sent a second kit that worked completely. Great Service! The kit is a really easy hookup. You'll need a 12v DC powersupply with at least 3-4amps. This is no problem if it's going in a car, but if you're using it in a project like mine, that's something to be aware of. Just connect to two power wires and that's it. Screw the tubes where you need them. The leads for each tube and the power wire are reasonably long, so positioning shouldn't be a problem. One thing to note. All the wires are hardwired into the control module. There are no plugs. This means you have to be able to run the tubes themselves to whereever you're going to put them (or be prepared to cut the wires and splice longer lengths in, no impossible, just tedious. The control module has 14 or so modes. Some are animated, some are just fixed colors. And it's got one "music" mode, which seems to react more to the vibrations in the surface that it's mounted to rather than actual music in the air. It's an OK effect, not great, but reasonable for the price. One big plus. Whatever mode you set it to, if you remove power, then turn the power back on, it comes back on in that mode. This is perfect for my use in a jukebox. I'd imagine it's the right thing to do for just about anything. Now, the not so good. When you have it in "music" mode and there's no music, it sits there, flashing blue. Why it's not just black or allow you to select one of the other modes for that, I don't know. Finally, the LEDS are BRIGHT! Really bright. Really makes for a nice lighting effect. All in all, a decent kit for the money. Not perfect, but definitely workable. ... show more

  • Buy it. They're awesome.
I was skeptical, but these blew me away. The lights illuminate the whole car, and not in an obnoxious way. I got these for my Mazda 3 5-door, and so far everyone who has seen them thinks they're awesome. Installation: I spent the extra money on the cigarette lighter adapter to make installation easy and have it hooked up to my center console. The control box is mounted on the driver side of the console (which comes with some mounting tape that is actually pretty strong) so I can change the settings while driving. The cords were the perfect length too, I was able to install the front under-dash lights and the lights beneath the seating, and still hide all of the wiring tucked into the console so it looks like the car was made that way. All in all, it took me about a half hour. Lighting/Use: The control box has three buttons: the on/off (which you can set the lights to "on" so they turn on automatically when you start the car), and Mode button (which allows you to choose the color setting you want, or the flashing pattern. For example you can have the lights set to solid red, or you can have them fade in and out to different colors at different speeds), and the Sound button (which makes the lights flash to the beat of the music you are listening to. The sound knob on the side of the box lets you adjust the sensitivity in case the music is too quiet for the box to pick up. It works, but I don't use it much because I find it a bit too distracting for driving.) The colors are the perfect level of brightness. I also really love the fact that they turn on when you start the car. It also remembers which light mode you set it to so it automatically starts at the color combo you had when you turned them off. The entire front row and back floor are illuminated and lights up the whole car at night, so be careful if these things are illegal in your state because a cop could easily see them on if your windows aren't tinted. All in all, awesome purchase for the money, and super easy installation. I would recommend them to anyone looking to spice up their car. ... show more
