This leather repair tape is easy to use - just cut a piece the appropriate size, peel off the backing, and stick it in place. The listing mentions rounding the corners for better adherence - I suppose the practicality of that will depend on the area you're covering. My version is 4 inches by 63 inches. It is best for small, or at least narrow, repairs. Whether this blends in well or not is totally going to depend on how well the color and grain matches the item you're repairing, as well as whether the patch is sized to blend in well with existing seams. However, even a more blatant repair should look better than a tear, as well as helping prevent worsening of the issue, extending the overall life of the product being repaired. My repair has held for two weeks so far, with no signs of issues, but I can't say how long it will last. Thankfully, there is plenty left for further repairs in the future.

I’m really happy with this product. It’s not a magical fix, but if the color is right, the patch blends in pretty well and helps to prevent further damage to the area. I somehow slashed the back of my car seat, and the leather near one of the seams started to crack. This patch is helping to hold everything together, and it’s less obvious than the crack and slash were. I rounded the edges to help prevent the corners from lifting, and I thought it looked less sketchy.

Despite the explicit language in the offering of the product that this product contained leather, this is in fact cheap leatherette. I took a tiny sample, removed the plastic backing and burned it under a lighter. It burned like plastic and smelled like burnt plastic. This may be ok for an inexpensive office chair, or a bar stool, but not for furniture or any application that requires real leather. “ Vinyl, Leather” means both vinyl and leather, NOT synthetic material. A disappointing waste of money.
