  • Plays with this over and over again!
My 20 month old plays with this several times throughout the day. It offers just the right amount of "challenge" for her, and the spikes are very easy for her to pinch and put into place. I do wish the dino had a little bit more weight to it, that way removing the spikes would be easier and the base wouldn't life. This hasn't stopped my daughter from figuring it out, and it's perfect for going over colors and numbers. We love it! ... show more

  • Not what I expected
I have purchased my grandson almost every learning activity available and I have to say just a little dissappointed with this one! the little squares are supposed to fit in the holes and you have to push quite hard and be very precise to make this happen. Their little fingers cannot make this happen so instead of getting his attention he stopped playing and went on to do something else. Not a thumbs up in my opinion. ... show more

  • Fine motor fun.
This little guy is so cute, and my 2 year old loved it instantly. The "plates" are numbered and colored, so there is room for directed/learning play as well. Loved the fact that all the plates stored inside. My only critique is that the dino itself is very light weight (not necessarily flimsy) but the fact that he's not heavier than he is makes it a little more difficult for mine to get the scales in and out of the slots on his back. Sometimes in taking one out the whole thing lifts up off the table. We may have to stick a beanbag or other weight inside his "compartment" to make it a little more toddler friendly. Otherwise, great learning gift, and Dinosaurs are always a win around here! ... show more

  • Perfect for Dino-loving kids!
My dino-loving son adores this toy! He loves putting Steggy together over and over again. His occupational therapist also loves how engaging this toy is as they work on fine motor skills. There is a ton you can do with this toy - teaching numbers, colors and counting. All of the spikes store in the back of Steggy, which makes it really easy to keep all of the pieces together. The plastic is colorful and durable and so easy to clean! ... show more

  • Great game for little ones
I love this toy. I also have the hedge hog from Learning Resources. I think they’re both fantastic. Unfortunately, I received two number 1 pieces and I’m missing either the 6 or 9 (can’t remember at the moment which number). This is disappointing because now I can’t use these to teach counting or numbers since I am missing a critical middle number (there are ten pieces). I can still use it to teach colors and requesting objects, but I’m a little frustrated that I received two number 1 pieces. Other than that, I highly recommend this toy. ... show more

  • We love Steggy!
Oh my! The colors, the feel and design is even more adorable in person. I am impressed at the durable feel of the spike numbers. Dino has a door to hold the numbers in and it closes easy and stays close so pieces won't fall out. The colors are so bright and fun. Very engaging so far!

  • Fun and Educational in 1.
My kids have really enjoyed this toy. My 21 month old enjoys putting the pieces in and out. For my 4 year old I use it for his preschooling. Sometimes I ask him to out the numbers in order, other times I will ask him to show me a specific pattern with the pieces. It's been a good educational toy and I love how it has storage for all of the pieces inside. ... show more

  • Nice for kids and OT
I got this for my sons occupational therapy sessions. It is really sturdy and I love that you can store the spines in the body of the toy. Now I don't have to worry about losing pieces of it when I put it away. The spines go into a rectangular slot and you have to push a bit to get them to go in (you might need to do some hand over hand at first). It is pretty nice for kids who have mastered a shape sorter. They have colors and numbers on them so that's fun to point out during lessons. ... show more
