I have never had the knack for music, even though I tried guitar as a child followed by piano and in later years I took violin lessons. I never got anywhere with any of it. The violin is collecting dust at the back of my closet. But every now and then I think about dusting it off and trying again. This book gave me the inspiration. I'm not saying I'll be playing concerts any time soon, this book have be the nudge I needed and holding the old instrument was fun. I got this book for my son who teaches music to adults and kids and he finds it very helpful. I remembered a lot of this information from when I studied violin in grade school. This book is very thorough and is easy to understand how to hold the instrument and read the music. It teaches on a beginner's level.
