The machine is nice and does what it needs to, however, that is pointless since the software is not user friendly. So many issues I do not know where to begin: 1. Id does not run well on Android phone and crashes a lot. 2. You can't do anything unless it is connected to the Bluetooth. Not even look for the support. 3. The images are upside down and need creative thinking to flip the machine or the target engraving piece (this is hard since I bought the machine to engrave the woodwork I do. How can I flip a whole cabinet. And the laser stand is not flexible enough. They should allow to flip the image in the software. 4. Since I engrave wood, it causes smoke, that disturbs the laser been which causes yellowish burning around the image. The solution is to use a fan to blow the smoke away. They need to explain that. 5. Alignment is a big issue to make the image straight with the target surface. It takes hours to align that. should I go on....???? ... show more

So the laser does a decent job... I've burned images onto thick paper, wrote on fruit peels, and even cut thru printer paper (although on accident at first). I've had somewhat of a learning curve with getting the distance from the medium right (they include a ruler for a reason), and choosing the right settings (2 pass setting makes the image much nicer than 1). They include a tripod, ruler, usb power cable & adapter, nice starter set of tags and leather coasters to test on and some laser protection glasses. I do wish they included a small stand up laser shield since the "prints" can take awhile and you don't want to wear the glasses that long but it's a pain to have to pop them on the check the progress. Also the USB C cable they included is way to short, so you'll probably want a longer one. But I love how portable it is and how it can be used fairly easily at angles or irregular surfaces. But the biggest con though is the software. The iPhone app at the time I'm writing this offers a lot of options like photo print, editor, and clipart which all seem great until you realize it's bad at all of these things: * The photo prints take forever to do at any size and you can't easily isolate the photo from the background using their clumsy software. So I figured I'd import a png with transparency... No it turns anything transparent into near black print. You need to use JPGs with a white background if you want decent results. * The editor does not offer any fonts, very limited tools, and you can't save or edit your work. So once you leave the screen to go print, you can't go back to fix anything and/or to print again. * The editor only gives you a square canvas, so if you are just doing a line of text it's hard to know where it will be when it gives you the preview since it's somewhere in the square. * The clip art worked well but you can't add to it and the selection is limited. More things to hate about the software: * You can't tell which way is up until you print a few times. Up is away from you, and is the side closest to the tripod screw (which if you print vertically or at an angle, it is very confusingly upside down). * While it's nice to have a preview of the print canvas... if you don't like it, you can't go back to fix it without losing all your work. * You can't set up, work, plan or review any job without connecting to the laser via bluetooth first. Okay, it's not all bad... they do give you a good number of controls and you can learn how to use it effectively, and I do like the preview outline that it offers. Also I've had no problems with the app crashing. And once you upload the "print" to the machine, it works fine if you disconnect your phone or reconnect mid print. But it needs to get a lot better for the laser to live up to its potential, and for the price it's tempting to go with something a little less portable, but with more power and lot less app drama. ... show more

I have to say the hardware and packaging overall excellent. And if it wasn't for the software I would probably give a 5-star rating. Come on, guys! You have great potential and only one competitor. Find someone to put together a software package that actually works and you will have a hit. Or even open source and you will pass the big pecker! The only thing that works on the LaserCube app is the very limited stock images, and even something as simple as rotation isn't even an option! Really? All other options, Photos, custom, import, and the App crashes! My advice, pull the product, Fix the software, and relaunch. You will have a hit. ... show more

So I came here to read about the laser engraving machine....found one review about the laser, one review about ....I want to say human shampoo...one review on lip balm..two reviews about dog shampoo, didn't know about oatmeal dog shampoo...it's 9 minutes til 3 in the morning......i had to select a star rating to submit this...based on the software issues in the one review....4 stars seems fair.....was that an engraving on a banana in that first picture ... show more
