Style: With Air Assist
As someone who has never used a laser engraver, this has a learning curve that is taking me longer than expected. I originally downloaded one of the free software programs that was suggested to use. I successfully did a couple of things with the two small sample pieces of wood. I did a laser engraving of a picture, and a test cut. Unfortunately, I did not feel totally comfortable with the software, and using it long-term for more custom creative projects. So I downloaded a different software that was also suggested. This software allows more options to allow more of the kind of projects that I was looking to do. I don't have a lot of projects/experience with the machine itself, as I am learning how to use the correct settings for the machine with the software. The engraver was easy to put together and set up initially. The manual gave some settings to use with the free suggested software. Those seemed to work great! However, those settings just don't translate well onto the other software that I am now using. That is where my learning curve is taking a little longer to figure all of this out. The hose that connects the blower to the engraver will sometimes pop off during use. Both ends of the hose are the same diameter. However, the places that it is supposed to be put on, are not the same diameter. So it fits quite snuggle on the blower part, but not next to the laser where it needs to be. I have contemplated just gluing it on, but I don't know if that will cause any issues in the long run. The metal plate that comes with the engraver to protect your workspace is pretty small for the working area of the engraver. It is also flat, which doesn't allow any air flow as is. I ended up also getting a larger mat to fit the work space of the machine, and one that allowed air flow. I wanted to try some engraving on thicker items, and need to safely lift the engraver to a higher setting. Since the legs were already installed onto the engraver machine pieces before I received it, it is hard for me to remove. They don't use a general philips or flathead screw. It's going to take a special tool to take them off to add taller legs. Overall, I am happy with the laser engraver. I look forward to the challenge of learning the new software, and being able to create some great projects. Enjoy a picture of this simple jumbo popsicle stick that I engraved and cut circles on the ends.

The media could not be loaded. I just started using this laser engraver. I love what I’ve tested and tried so far. I have only tried on wood but will be getting into other materials soon. My husband did not have any issues assembling and followed a video tutorial. I tried using the MKS laser app it suggests in the user manual but did not have good results with it. The app is super faulty and simple. It would not upload large images and I had trouble connecting my devices. I started using Lightburn with a laptop which has been a dream compared to the MKS app. I see paying for lightburn to be worth it in the long run. This laser is super easy to use once you are familiar with it. It has been engraving things beautifully. I’m still playing with power and speed numbers but it has been fun to learn! This is a great beginner laser!

I have been using this JL7 laser for a month and it is completely transformed how I approach my DIY projects. The precision is incredible I was able to cut through 20mm wood with clean, sharp edges and engrave intricate details that looked like professional work. I made custom coasters and even decorative acrylic sign for my desk , and everything came out better than I imagined. The power and ultra fine focus make such a difference for both cutting. The features like the cover and glasses made me feel confident while working and the app control is so convenient I loved being able to set up a design and let it run without needing my computer. The built in dust control kept my workspace clean and its become my favorite tool.

Style: With Air Assist
We are crafters and business owners, so we bit the bullet and invested in this engraver for fun and business. We own a small marketing agency where clients often want high-end gifts and giveaways for their customers, but the minimum orders are too high for their needs, and don't allow for any personalization. We assembled this in about an hour and played with it all weekend. The learning curve isn't steep, but this is a real piece of equipment, not a toy, so some practice results in even better products. We’re also impressed with the size, which obviously allows for engraving even larger projects. There is no doubt in my mind that we will begin selling custom padfolios, tumblers, tool sheaths and casings, coasters, home decor, and even jewelry. This engraver will pay for itself in the first month. We couldn’t be more pleased!

Style: With Air Assist
This laser is a perfect option for intermediate laser engravers. Easy set up and use. Air assist machine included saved me a ton of time trying to find a compatible one. The app was easy to use and worked well. So far this has been my favorite laser machine - easy set up, easy use and works great!
