Just a tip for those who are frustrated with the adjustability. I may have sent them back as well if I did not work through it. Flip the pink quick flip switch to the open position. Loosen the two black screws on the underneath of the front of the skate a turn or so. Secure the rear of the skate by hooking it on to something. I put a 1/2" steel rod in a vise and hooked the blade housing on the rear of the skate. Insert your finger into a few of the front laces and pull forward. It breaks free then and the adjustability is now easy. Tighten the two black screws when finished. Highly recommended! ... show more

    • Good beginner skate for price but hard to adjust

My kids use these for recreational/public skating. They have hockey skates as well but these are a little more comfortable for casual skating with the soft boot, and plus they look cooler for a little girl. As with most skates, they are not pre-sharpened regardless of what the description says, so make sure you get them sharpened before use. My one complaint is that the size adjustment is fairly hard. I'm a grown man who's a former athlete and still fairly strong and active and I really have to struggle to adjust the size. Luckily I only have to do that very infrequently as the kids grow so its not a huge deal. The nice part is there's a wide size adjustment range so they should last for several years. ... show more

I purchased these for my daughter and she loves them. We have only used them once but she skated for three hours and never once complained about her feet hurting. I like that they are easily adjustable so they should last a long time. They seem solidly built and they run smooth on the ice. You do have to have them sharpened before you use them the first time. I brought these for my daughter for her 1st ice skate class and I got sharpened at the store. She wore them to her class and her teacher said these are not right blade size for all sizes. Not easy to handle and ride with her feet size. I end up buying them again.

our daughter learned to skate after a couple wears, we are excited that she can use these for a few years with the adjustable option. once her foot stops growing them she can get a better pair, if she continues to skate. But for now, the value and the option to grow into these totally was worth it.

It is so lightweight. Very easy to put them on. Easy to adjust the size. However, the size is bigger than expected. My daughter is 13.5 and she still fits on the lower size 12.

We love these skates. They are the second pair we have purchased for our daughter as she has sized up. The fact that they are adjustable does not compromise the quality nor construction of the skates, which are durable and well-made. They do not look or feel cheap and are not flimsy
