Decent skates. The top edge of the leather can be a bit ‘bitey’ on the leg and the teeth run very low on the front so you need to be careful not to ‘snag’ them. Ground off the lowest tooth for my daughter & my skates which has been perfect for us. They are also flat on the bottom of the blade, and will need quite a bit of metal taken off to sharpen. We lived in NY, and Bryant Park offers free skating tickets if you bring your own skates. Buying our own skate boots was definitely worth it. During peak times, Bryant Park skating tickets can go as high as $80. The boots have lasted for 3 seasons already and still work great.

For the price, they're fine, but you do get what you pay for. The ankle support is almost non existent, and the material almost feels like a thick paper, or even cardboard.
