    • These are perfect for my young beginner skater!

These are great skates for the young beginner figure skater. My son is six years-old and taking beginning ice skating classes at our local ice rink. When he put these on he said they felt so much better than the rentals at the ice rink. I noticed his skating improved immediately as he was standing more straight over the blades in them and gliding easier. He is currently a Size 1 in shoes, but I ordered him these skates in Size 2 so he would have some room to grow and keep them for a while. They lace up good and tight around his ankles and he stands up over the blades nice and straight. He loves them, and it makes him feel like one of the older boys who also have their own black figure skates. I had them sharpened before he used them, as it said on the side of the box to sharpen before first use. So I did, assuming they needed it. Great price for decent little skates, and they will pay themselves off in no time at all by not having to pay for the skate rentals at the rink! Bought this for my son as first time skater. I should read other’s review first. They’re there’s not much support on the ankle.

For these skates for my 5 year old who just started learning skating. They work and get the job done. Nothing fancy or or if ordinary. I would recommend buying these as starter skates

My son is taking ice skating lessons. He never skated before. At first I bought him adjustable skates & he couldn't even stand up on the ice! His instructor said he needs figure skates. He is a size 1 1/2 - 2 in shoes so I bought him the size 2 & he is doing great with them!

    • Make sure to tie your laces tight!

I bought these for my son who decided he wanted to learn to ice skate. As long as you tie the laces properly they work just fine for beginners. My son has wide feet but had no problem skating for over an hour the first time he wore them. These are a great buy considering they were the cost of one rental. ... show more

These are great skates. I bought 2 pairs for my boys for their ice skating lessons. They do not come sharpened, so plan for that. Most ice skating rinks will sharpen them for you ($15 per pair at mine) and it only takes about 15 minutes. My boys say these fit well and they like them. Seem to have good ankle support. I think they may run a little big, but doesn't seem to cause a problem with slightly thicker socks. ... show more

My son is very flat footed. These don’t support his wide & flat properly.. For a narrow foot w a regular arch these would probably be fine of an ice skate or hockey skate wasn’t wanted.
