I am a student going for a welding degree and these work great for oxy-acetylene welding. I also have a pair of "sunglasses" style shade 5, but I much prefer these! I initially had them a bit too tight, but some adjustments and then it was just right.

I do not weld often and I had flash burn 20 years ago so I know how important eye protection is. I purchased a Titanium Flux 125 welder from Harbor Freight and the welder's manual stated "shade 10 eye protection" is required. This product provided shade 10 so it was on my short list. I reviewed the welding helmets which had automatic darkening feature but when I read the reviews and some buyers stated that the automatic darkening feature occasionally does not work. That was not acceptable so I rejected all eye protection that had the automatic darkening feature. This product had both shade 5 and shade 10 lens and they are very easy to interchange. I wear glasses so there was no problem me using this with my glasses on. The flip up lens feature allow me to do set-up work and when I am ready to weld, I flip the lens down and I am good to go. I no longer have to worry about the automatic darkening feature not working. I highly recommend this product for the typical home owner who weld only occasionally. ... show more

These are everything I wanted for a doctor horrible costume - except they don’t come close to fitting. They are several sizes too large, so large that I couldn’t possibly make them work. Not for women with smaller-ish heads, even with tightening it because it’s too wide.
