This week, I installed a high-performance Mini PC to add to my low performance All-in-One PC. I have a second monitor and configure the All-in-One PC as a dual screen setup. I am using the Mini PC on the second monitor only, and only for photo editing. I was struggling with room for two sets of keyboards and two mice. As if by magic, this KVM HDMI and USB switch appeared in my Vine listing and I immediately ordered it. As an Amazon Vine reviewer, I am offered new-to-market products, if I want them, at no cost to me, in exchange for an honest, objective, and comprehensive review. . The switch is a very light, plastic-bodied unit, reminiscent of other USB hubs I own. I use Fun Tack to stick it down to the desk, so that the cables don’t lift it into the air! Overall, the quality is good and typical of the switch market. . My set up is a little more complex than most. I have a security camera system and I use an HDMI Two-into-One HDMI switch to allow my second monitor to display either the security cameras or be the dual monitor screen for my All-In-One PC. It took a little thought to work out how to plumb this new KVM switch in and still be able to use the second monitor for three configurations. I included my circuit diagram for reference. Once done, I can now either select an All-In-One PC dual screen setup, an All-In-One PC screen and security cam screen, or have my Mini PC on the one monitor. I love having a common keyboard and mouse. The only thing I miss is being able to use my Mini PC AND the All-In-One both at the same time; one for photo-editing and one for YT editing tutorials. The two peripherals only work with the one selected PC. Can’t have it all, I guess. (UPDATE: Oh yes you can! Using the Microsoft utility “Mouse Without Borders”, I can also have my one mouse and one keyboard operate both PCs at the same time!) . FYI, as with all these switches, the PCs’ software will take a couple seconds to switch after you make your selection. It’s not instantaneous. And of course, there are now a lot more cables to stash away in the back. I label them with painter’s tape to know what goes where. The four included cables (two HDMI and two USB-A to USB-A) are each 1 meter (39 inches) long. Long enough for most cases and too long for many. Use a USB dongle for your keyboard and mouse or you’ll have even more cables to manage. . The blue or green LED around the switch button is pretty bright in daylight and much more so at night. It’s on 24/7 when connected. It would be nice if it shut off after selection. My other HDMI switch doesn’t have an LED. You can see what you selected on the screens! 1 Star Lost! ☹ . CONCLUSION: . If you use two computers and want to minimize the desk clutter, this is the way to go. At just under $30, I think this is good value. You can spend a little more and get the all-metal version. I have a mac mini and a windows tower and I needed a kvm to switch between the two machines, this does the job, It's well priced so I really can't complain on that, it is light though so you should mount it with some VHB tape of you have it (or regular double-sided tape) so it won't move about on your desk or wherever you place it. ... show more

My sons each wanted to use the monitor/keyboard/mouse at the one desk available to them. This KVM switch solved the problem. The cables are HDMI cables are short, though, so you might need to buy longer ones.

Equipment used: Mac Pro 2013 / Mac Pro 2019 / Das Keyboard / Kensington Wired Slimblade Trackball / LG 35" Ultra Wide Curved Monitor I really wanted this to work. I just got a 2019 Mac Pro and wanted to use this to switch one set of peripherals between that and my old 2013 Mac Pro. I attached my keyboard, mouse, and 35" LG Ultrawide monitor to the KVM then made the connections to the two computers and turned them both on. All I got was a blank screen followed by a message that said "No Signal - Entering Power Save Mode". I tried to switch between Blue and Green by toggling the button and still no display. The monitor has 2 HDMI inputs so I plugged the Macs directly into the monitor and the display came up immediately. I could use the monitor control to switch between HDMI1 and HDMI2 and both Macs were displaying properly when directly connected to the monitor. It is possible the unit I received is defective or it may just not be able to handle the resolution of the ultra wide monitor. Not really sure. I give this device 2 stars because the KVM does in fact switch the USB ports so I can still use it to share a single mouse and keyboard with both computers. Items of note: the USB ports are only USB 2.0 which is just fine for a keyboard and mouse; the included cables are kind of short at just a little over 3 ft long. ... show more

This one is great if you have kids or share a workspace with someone else, and you have a simple setup. Easy to use, and the different color lights give an easy visual cue for which computer is currently switched on which is a really nice feature. It's small so there isn't a big footprint. I really like that this will switch 2 computers between one display, mouse and kb. Having different colors (blue and green) for 2 computers is a nice touch too. I am using this with a MacBook pro and a mini PC. This switcher has a small foot-print and rides nicely on top of my mini PC. Setup is pretty easy and straight-forward, just make sure that you have the wiring correct according to the included directions. So far i really like this switch, it works like a champ. i just hope that it will go the distance and it will get plenty of clicks every day. ... show more
