It’s literally garbage and will be going in the garbage. What a waste of money. You can see the glue, nothing is set evenly, it doesn’t work, the blades don’t fit right… it’s garbage.

    • This is....OK. It sort-of works. You get what you pay for.
My family had one of these as a child, and I liked the idea of having one too. I did not love the idea of paying $100+ for one made in Germany, so I went cheap and hoped for the best. The construction is OK, not great. It looks fine from a distance but not so good up close--you can see lopsided elements and sloppy painting. The wooden blades feel super flimsy and I can't imagine them standing up to repeated insertion/removal from the top part. The needle/fulcrum is not exactly balanced so sometimes the turns are wobbly. Despite the lack of instructions I knew how to put it together and angle the blades. The stubby candles it came with proved useless so I tried longer candles, and it simply wouldn't turn at all no matter how much I adjusted the angles. The underside of the blades singed quickly without turning, so I hastily blew out the candles. Then I thought more about how it works, and where I lived as a kid (Chicago), and where I live now (near the equator), and the December temperature of the room in each location. Once I cranked the AC and got the room a bit cooler, the blades finally started turning. More or less. If you live in a cold climate you will probably have better luck. I absolutely do not recommend giving this as a gift to others, but if you're willing to deal with the imperfections--and pay close attention anytime it's lit--it's adequate as a gift to yourself. ... show more

    • Great value high quality
When I read the other reviews I was terrified. Assembly was a no-brainer! The candles that come with it are too short, get the taller ones (sold on amazon also). I had to play with the blades and carousel a bit but no more than 5 min. It’s beautiful, incredible value. Other I’ve seen are in the 100’s of dollars. Quality is great, beautiful gift. I’m thrilled and will but more. Don’t read the other reviews! ... show more

    • Fire hazard and doesn’t work

We tried this a few times last season with no spinning and packed it away. We put it together carefully tonight to see if we could get the spinning but we didn’t. It did create black burn marks on the fans and on one section of the house, despite using the recommended candles.
