Muahahahaha! I am speed! This thing is the best fifty dollar investment I have ever made in my craft hobbies. I made a full scarf in only a few hours; by hand it would have taken me weeks and my hands would have been in deep pain for most of it. Sure, it was a little frustrating at first not knowing how to cast on the machine, as the instructions are in the most broken English. However, once I watched some videos on how to get started I became a knitting monster bent on filling the world with finished projects. It even comes with a variety of tapestry needles and a 2.75mm crochet hook. It also comes with the scratchiest little yarn skeins but for practice puvirposes they work. It says not to use too small or chunky of a yarn but you can go slightly outside the weight range if you are careful and watch the tension. Everything on it may be plastic and it's certainly not professional grade but hey it's fifty bucks and basically a time vortex where everything can get done within an 80s movie montage. P.S. The row counter saves so much frustration on knowing where you're at. ... show more

Edit: 6 months later it constantly drops stitches or just refuses to hook the working yarn in a few places. Causing me to restart what I’m working on. All these issues I would purchase another one but I’m saving for a bigger one Love this knitting machine as someone with a hand disability who loves to crochet and kit. It has given me the ability to make things again I will say however that the stitch counter after the third hat became faulty it still works fine otherwise. After some use it gets caught up and misses some stitches so as long as your careful with it and really paying attention you can catch it’s faults. It does get frustrating after a while but it’s all within practice. I’ve read other reviews and they deal with the same thing so it’s really just something you’ll have to adjust to if it starts happening to you. I have however made some really cool pieces and still really enjoy it! ... show more

You get what you pay for. I got this for my wife and it keeps jamming up and dropping stitches, not very durable, but looks good until you try to use it. She had to get oil to try and make it work better, save you money and get a more expensive one with better quality. I tore it apart and rebuilt it replacing some parts with metal and better quality parts and it works a little better. Head ache to deal with and sits on the shelf mostly. ... show more

I bought this because I needed to make 18 scarfs for my family for Christmas. I watched several videos on how to use it. Finally started using it and it was not too hard at all. After a few scarfs it started dropping stitches. The counter would sometimes skip. As it became harder to turn the handle it kept dropping more stitches and not counting at all. Then the counter quit completely. I kept trying to use it because I needed to get them made for gifts. I can't even tell you how many times I started each scarf over. I remember when I had one scarf only 100 rows away (my scarfs were 350 rows each) from being finished and it dropped a bunch of stitches after a few times around. It looked good then in the middle it had dropped stitches show up. I watched for the white prong in order to count the rows. It was extremely frustrating. Anyways I had two scarfs left to do and sand the machine started making this very loud popping noise while turning the handle. Then it started making a crunching noise then I couldn't turn it at all. It was done. I paid $60.00 in October of this year, but I didn't start the scarfs until the end of November of this year. I'm saying this machine did not last one month. ... show more

We had originally bought the one from Micheals that was almost $90. It was always dropping stitches, it would get jammed and the handle wouldn't budge at all. We tried all the different types of yarn on it and only like 2 would "properly" work if that. It was also incredibly loud when turning it. The legs would also constantly pop out when your trying to hold on to it. You also only get one small size needle and one tiny crochet hook that barely grabbed on to anything. This one works like a charm! It's a lot less quoter when turning it. There's a lot less stitches being dropped. But if you're paying close attention, it pretty much does it perfectly. The legs actually screw in so when you're holding it, the legs don't pop out when you're trying to turn the hold it. We haven't had the chance to use the small suction cups that come with it. But I would assume they work pretty decently as long as you're not rough housing it. I also love that it comes with different size of needles. This one actually feels like it was worth buying and is actually worth what I paid for it. ... show more

Within 4 hours of getting my box off the porch, I'd unboxed the knitting machine, put it together, and knit 3 adult sized hats. At this rate, I may actually be able to use up my yarn stash within my lifetime! The machine is super simple to use, although I do recommend watching Youtube how-to videos rather than depending on the written instructions in the box. I also recommend knitting several rows with a contrasting color waste yarn before removing the knitted piece from the machine. I's MUCH easier to pick up stitches at the waste yarn join than to deal with the possibility of dropped stitches, and it is very easy to drop a stitch when removing the fabric from the machine. I like the machine so much I'm already considering buying the small version for tiny projects. ... show more
