Fits perfectly on my little desk's side slot which was made to store small books or CDs, etc… I turned it sideways and slide it out to access items. It holds an amazing amount of items: 12 pens/sharpies/highlighters, plus a small ruler, nail file in one pocket. 2 pair of scissors, a magnifying glass, 2 computer cords in another, a small webster computerized dictionary, camera, calculator, iPod, camera battery charger, one pair of glasses, a small stapler, and 1 small tissue package. The drawer holds paper clips, nail trimmers, a small (1 1/2") tape measure, small post-it notes, 1 lip stick, staples, plus a few other small items. For me that's everything off the desk shelf that I had in a plastic tray and into this nice looking and well made little desk top storage organizer.
