Description

The KidKraft Wooden Two Step Stool brings kids two steps closer to independence. Sturdy wood construction makes this ideal for kids who like to do things on their own. It can be used to climb up to reach books or toys on a shelf, or it can used as an extra seat. The rounded open handles on the sides allow little hands to easily pick up and carry from place to place. Parents will love the handsome, easy-clean finish. From the Manufacturer Built wide with a low center of gravity, our Step Stool helps toddlers reach counter tops and other just-out-of-reach places, safely and securely. With a lacquer finish that is easy to clean, and built in handles that make carrying the step stool a cinch, this is an item that is sure to make Mom ¿ and her toddler very happy. We recommend to use some nonslip pads if the type of flooring is tile or wood as any wood product would slip on those floors.

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Melissa & Doug vs. KidKraft Step Stool - M&D Wins
I couldn't quite decide between Melissa and Doug's step stool or KidKraft's. Since I needed two, I bought both. Here are my thoughts: KidKraft - Harder to assemble (I find their screws strip easily, have had this issue in the past) - Scratches easily (came with a few and already scuffed up) - The angle in the back makes it hard to put up against the sink like others mentioned - Is solid wood which I like but added to difficulty to get the screws to catch - No rubber grips from the bottom, so worry it will slide more easily on the ground Melissa & Doug - Easy to Assemble - Sturdy - Particle board but I find that it's very solid and strong - Slightly wider than KidKraft it feels like and my daughter can climb up it easily on her own - Rubber grips for the bottom keep it from sliding I put non-slip tape on both to be safe. Overall, both are good products and look good. But if I had it to do over again, I'd buy two Melissa & Doug step stools. I'm using these for the sink, not sure about them for potty training. ... show more

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Sturdy enough for a toddler
This thing was a pain in the ass to get together. My husband had to help me. I don't know if I would have been able to do it myself. When you get to the last step you have all of the horizontal pieces are vertical vertical and floating around because just loose dowels are provided to hold them in place and it is REALLY hard to get everything lined up at the same time so you can start screwing the last side on. I messed with it for quite awhile before calling for help. It was still challenging with two people. Once you get past that it is a nice little stool. It is the perfect height next to my toddlers bed so she can use it to get up on her bed. Add anti slip tape to the steps for safety and also on the bottom if you’re using it on a wood floor. ... show more

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Strong and Sturdy Stool!
I ordered this stool as a gift for my five-year old niece. She is not quite able to reach the clothes in her closet and I thought this would be perfect for it. I wanted a stool with two steps so that she could get up a bit higher, but I needed it to be sturdy and solid. I was looking at plastic step stools because they seemed to be less expensive compared to other wooden steps. Admittedly, I was a bit concerned about the quality of this based on the price. I decided to take a chance on it, and am glad I did! The stool came securely packaged from Amazon, but it was not assembled when it arrived. The directions were clear and I was able to put it together with a screwdriver and the included hardware in about ten minutes. Once together, the stool looks great. It is a bright white finish and was able to be washed down easily. What you can't tell from the picture is how sturdy it is. It is well built and solid, but it is not too heavy. My niece is able to pick it up and move it without effort. The back legs on the stool angle out just a bit which make it nice and stable. I will be buying another one of these for use in the bathroom as well. I would recommend this product to anyone with young kids and wanting something that looks nicer than the basic plastic step stool. ... show more

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Light and strong
I bought this for my toddler mainly for use in our kitchen. I trusted the previous reviews about it being slippery and bought clear non slip tape at the same time. My left hand is broken but I was still able to fully assemble the stool in about 10 min with one hand so I’d say it’s easy to assemble. After proper assembly I was amazed at how strong it turned out to be given how light it is. I weigh 190lbs and it supports my weight no problem. Yet it’s light enough for my toddler to drag around anywhere he wants ( hence I added the felt pads) great purchase! A year later and it’s held up to the abuse of a two kid house plus my wife that used it all the time ... show more

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Decent for the price
For the price, this is a pretty decent step stool. Easy to assemble, we only had to add some wood glue because one of the screws created a small crack in the wood and we wanted to make sure everything stayed together. We are using it for my 5yr old to reach the clothes hanging in her closet. Good height, wished it was slightly wider and maybe have the steps be a little more deep, to give a better sense of stability to the kid climbing on it, but it works for its purpose. I followed the suggestion given in other reviews of adding some non-slip sticky tape on the steps to avoid the kid from slipping and falling off. We don't use it in the bathroom, so it wasn't a big concern, but just in case she was going on it with her socks on, it could be potentially hazardous. ... show more

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars great stool for 2yr+ toddler
My 2 year old was getting to be very independent and wanting to do many things for herself. Figured it was time to get a higher stepstool (we have the baby bjorn stool to help her climb into and out of bed, but needed a higher one for the bathroom sink and kitchen counter where she likes to help "cook" also). I was trying to choose between this one and a similar one with the storage option but figured that since we will be moving it back and forth (the bathroom is small, and stool would sometimes be used in the kitchen as well) the storage would work against us in weighing the thing down. additionally, this stool is 2 inches higher than the storage stool and every little bit counts as my little girl is a tad on the short side. We've been using the stool for over a month now and she loves it. she will carry it from its location by the wall to the sink and climb up to wash her hands (using a small bucket to catch the water since she still can't reach the faucet). and it's also encouraged her to use the potty since she can climb up on it by herself (with the shorter step near the toilet). all in all, I'm very happy with this stool and glad that I went with this option. For the kitchen, I'll probably buy a second stool as it's a pain to carry back and forth in the apartment. ... show more
