  • Everything I was looking for; comfortable, durable and they don’t slip
Size: 9 Color: Dark Earth/Mulch
I love these shoes! I’m a woman who finds men’s hiking boots/shoes fit me better than women’s. I have to use corrective custom orthotics and I need a shoe that holds its shape. I can’t wear sneakers or slippers so I basically only wear hiking boots/shoes. I need a wide toe box and Keens in general have roomy toe boxes. I’ve had Keen ankle high boots for years and I love them but they’re not exactly good house shoes. I wanted a pair of hiking shoes that I can wear only around the house and that I can slip on and off. I tried several other brands before finding these and they’re by far the best and most comfortable for me. The toe box is roomy, my orthotics fit inside perfectly, they’re relatively light weight (compared to my Keen hiking boots but I wouldn’t say they’re the lightest hiking shoes I’ve ever worn. They aren’t the heaviest either.) and they slip on and off easily without being so loose that they slip off on their own. They’re true to size too. I’m a men’s size 9. I bought a size 9 and initially they were snug but they’re leather so you want them to be a bit snug because they’re going to stretch some. I’ve been wearing them for several hours daily; they’re perfect now and very comfortable. It didn’t take long to break them in and I’m sure they’d be too loose if I had bought a larger size. I have worn them without socks briefly (just when I need to answer the door quickly and I’m not wearing socks) but they chafed my skin around the top of the shoes (just under my ankles) so I wear socks with them most of the time. My foot fits fine with tube socks, ankle socks and thin wool socks but very thick socks would probably make my shoes too tight and I wouldn’t want to stretch the leather. The leather is now supple and the shoes are very durable and comfortable. I’m very happy with my purchase and would absolutely buy them again. ... show more

  • Perfect for my needs
Size: 11.5 Color: Dark Earth/Mulch
Fabulous shoes. I like to go walking along the rocky river shore by my home, and these shoes fit snugly around my foot. The size is perfect, unlike another good brand, which run wider and shorter. I love Keen shoes. They are great quality.

  • Just received
Size: 9.5 Color: Dark Earth/Mulch
I just received these today and thought I would share a few points. I so this with all new footwear that I get. I always wear them around inside the house for several days or a week before venturing outdoors in anything I get. First, it minimizes dirt and scuffs so that if I need to return them, they aren’t so trashed that they can’t re-sell them to someone else who might appreciate them. Second, it gives me an option to get them off if they turn out to be uncomfortable and I can wear something else, rather than being miles from home and stuck in something uncomfortable. And third, if f they turn out great, they will start to conform to my feet and take on a a form fitting shape that will be an easy transition as an outdoor shoe. I have done this without any issues for decades in all my footwear. Upon seeing other reviews, I see that some people say that the stitching doesn’t hold up well with rough use. Now that I have these, there is a lot of overlay panels of leather on these, and usually what I do is I will generously coat shoes like this with Obenaufs. It’s a leather treatment and I find that it preserves the leather and lubricates it as well as the stitching. This will minimize threads from fraying and possibly tearing out or busting seams. I know most people won’t bother and most people probably feel that a good pair of shoes shouldn’t need this process if they are made well. That’s a fair point. But, I like insurance and I want my purchases to last as long as possible. Adding this product to the shoes also conditions them and armors them against the elements a bit, which only adds to the value and longevity of the shoes. Fit: These are really tight out of the box. The top of the “tongue” keeps curling in as I put them on and I have to use my finger to flip it back. It hurts a bit. I am assuming it’s because they are new and I hope they become more pliable. The Obenaufs will surely help with that. The overall fit is very snug at this point. I am a true 9.5 and ordered a 9.5. I will update this review if it becomes necessary as these wear in. ... show more

  • Perfect after a little stretch, remember these are actually leather.
Size: 12 Color: Dark Earth/Mulch
I absolutely love these shoes. They are the most comfortable to walk around in for long periods and no rubbing. They can be tight out of the box, but I've found for me (size 12), when I get a new pair I just shove a water bottle into the shoe for a few days to stretch it a bit. After that it fits perfectly and never have an issue for the life of the shoe. Proper way would be to use a standard shoe stretcher, but same deal. Don't write them off just because they feel tight up front or uneven. Real leather means they won't be perfectly consistent after sitting around in unknown climate, it's on the user to break them in. ... show more

  • Excellent work shoe very comfortable
Size: 10 Color: Dark Earth/Mulch
Great value for the money, very comfortable, waterproof or at least water resistant, I own several pair and keep it extra pair on hand just in case I need them. They slip on durable leather and fit great.

  • Runs small
Size: 12 Color: Dark Earth/Mulch
I really like the look and comfort of Keen footwear, but this one model runs way too small, perhaps a size to a size and a half small. Had to return them. Quality is, as always, outstanding by examining the material, stitching, etc.

  • Amazing alternative to other big bands
Size: 10.5 Wide Color: Dark Earth/Mulch
Absolutely amazing pair of dependable, durable, and effective “hiking boots” in a slip on form factor. Many years ago I had a similar in style pair of Merrell Moab - very similar in nearly every way. Those shoes lasted me for YEARS! Only replaced as the tread was literally gone. Got another of the same Merrells and within a couple weeks the seams were tearing and the cloth part where you skip your heel along was ripped and the foam exposed. These Keens are a few months old now and have minimal wear after daily wearing in all sorts of conditions. ... show more
