I love the beautiful red color and the silhouette of this dress. I went with my usual top size for my bust measurement and the dress fits me well. It also comes with a long slip to wear underneath the crochet layer. The fiber is mostly cotton and it definitely feels like it. I always appreciate natural fiber garments. Everything feels high quality, especially the thoughtful detail of the snap-on loops for the slip straps. I am so impressed!

It was a surprise how heavy this dress was when it arrived. It’s a gorgeous true red, in fact, what I’d call Christmas red. This KARL LAGERFELD casual summer dress is a work of art because of the exquisite and intricate crochet design. The thick thread used in the crochet work is what makes the dress feel heavy. After wearing the dress for ten to fifteen minutes the dress felt comfortable. Would I wear it in Florida in the summer? No! However for summer in the Pacific Northwest this dress will work well. Although the dress is heavy, the cotton fabric, the design, and the crochet knit will keep this from being too hot. The dress comes with a detachable red underslip. It attaches via snaps in the shoulder area. It’s helpful to have a detachable slip for putting on the dress and for washing the dress. The description of this dress under product specifications has many errors. The dress is below the knee unless you are about 5’9” or taller. The description says, “above the knee”. The neckline is not “crew neck” and the dress is not, “backless”, nor is it, “short sleeve”, as it is sleeveless. Go by the images,not the product specs. If you are unsure about the fit, I’d recommend going down in size. Based on the recommendation by Amazon I ordered a large. I’m a medium would be a much better fit for me, which you can see in my photos. I’m 5’4” and 135 lbs. for reference. The dress is at a nice price for the quality and detail of the construction and the fashionable design. Not only will I wear it in the summer, I also will put a black, gold or green top under the dress and wear it to upcoming holiday parties.

I’m extremely happy with this Karl Lagerfeld red casual dress. Although the dress is a bit heavier than expected, it actually works in your favor in warm weather, allowing the fabric to hang properly without clinging to your skin, and I should know, since I live in Florida! The fit is flattering and true to size. It sits nicely on the body without feeling restrictive, making it suitable for both casual outings and dressed-up daytime events. The fabric quality is excellent. As mentioned earlier, the dress is slightly heavier than I expected for a summer dress, but this added weight helps it hold its shape better and gives it a more polished look. The red color is vibrant and perfect for summer. The design is simple yet classy, and it’s very easy to style with sandals or wedges for daytime wear, or with heels and accessories for an evening look. The dress is a bit pricey, but considering the brand, quality, and design, it’s well worth it. I believe it will last for multiple seasons, making it a great value for the money.

This Karl Lagerfeld dress is pretty and good quality, but it does leave a few things to be desired from my perspective. The good: It is a heavy weight and thick material. The dress has a liner inside (like a thin slip), making it feel soft to wear. The outer portion is like a knit sweater. The colour is a rich red, but it is slightly darker red than the photo (though not dark red). The length is true to the photos, but would be too long for anyone below 5'5", unless you would like a maxi style dress. The cut is overall flattering and can be dressed up or down. It goes well with a nice jacket or sweater over the top so it can be worn in more than just the summer. The bad: The dress is a lot heavier than I expected it to be. The photo made me think it was going to be more like a slinky, lighter weight crochet fabric, but it's actually pretty heavy when you pull it out of the box. Although it is not a full on sweater dress, the fabric is pretty heavy so it feels like it would be pretty hot in the summer time. It also doesn't fit to curves as well as I would like, and isn't overly flattering. For reference I am 5'7", 119 lbs and usually wear a size S in most clothes. I ordered this in a small. Overall the dress is a 3/5.

This is a cute dress that would be nice for summer but with a jacket could be worn all year round. It's crochet with a full camisole dress type liner on the inside. The color is gorgeous, a beautiful red. I ordered my usual size and it fits like it should. I'm 5' 5" and it hits me just below the knee. Crocheted cotton is always interesting as a summer fabric as it is quite heavy but is also quite "breezy" as there are plenty of holes from the crochet pattern. Since this is sleeveless it should work well for summer without making me too hot but would also definitely be warm enough for winter with a jacket over it (Hello Christmas party!). The crochet seems to be done very well and the seams are sewn nicely both on the dress and the liner. Bless the designer for having the liner snap in--there are some of us who just can't put on a dress with a liner without wondering why the right strap is over our left shoulder.... This way if you hear any "pops" while trying to figure out your mistake, it is just the snap coming undone and not the stitching! I was a little worried looking at the product page that the dress would be too see through, but the liner is perfect and covers well. It's a very pretty and versatile dress that's made well, no complaints!

I absolutely love this dress. I’ve gained weight recently and all I seem to wear is black. This dress is the exception; it is so flattering. The simple design accentuates curves without making me look heavier than I am. The fit is perfect. The knit quality is incredible, this is very well made. I love the red slip that is so understated and you can’t tell that it’s a slip, just part of the dress. I can dress this up with a cute jacket and heels. I absolutely recommend.
