I like this Jwx Electric Standing Desk. I use it in my office. It is large at 55 inches and is quite well built. Its sturdy, quiet and works great. It has a single motor but works fine, no issues. I have put together quite a few electric desks, this one was straightforward, instructions were clear. It also includes a headset holder and cup holder which are nice add-ons. The top does has three pieces but they are quite sturdy, also included is a very large mouse pad. Overall a great setup - once I had it set up and using the desk, the split top isn't noticeable for me especially with a x-large mouse pad and two monitors. ... show more

This is a nice basic standing electric desk. It is fairly easy to assemble. It is 55 inches wide and 24 inches deep. So it is a nice size overall. The controls are on the left side, and personally, I would prefer that they were on the right, but that is simply a personal preference. Easy to operate. I got this standing desk for my son who is a programmer and a gamer. He prides himself on being pretty good at assembling furniture and generally enjoys it. Unfortunately, the directions for this desk weren't good. His biggest complaint was that parts were labeled in the (unclear) written directions, but not on the parts (or their bags/labels) at all. You were left to figure out what you were supposed to do and then still had to search for the correct screw, etc in each step. It made the whole process take far longer than it needed to. However, in spite of the semi-frustration of assembly, he really likes the desk. He had this to say: "The desk is awesome! It works great and looks nice. The motor is quiet and has a very large height range that's numbered so you can easily find your sweet spot each time. I found the controls a bit touchy but mostly easy to use. I had [my wife] lay on it to test the sturdiness and everything was stable. Not only did the motor still work great, but it didn't sound or act strained at all. Pretty impressive! (She's about 115lbs.) The mouse pad is huge and nice quality. Awesome addition for gaming although in my opinion, the mousepad could be slightly wider (side to side) and a little shorter in length (front to back). My mouse will never be as 'high' as the back of the desk, but as a gamer, I move my arm in large sweeping motions and it'd be nice to have a little more width to work with. Over all it's awesome and I'm pumped to use it!" All in all, recommended. 4.5 stars for quality and strength and versatility of motor, but unnecessarily poor directions.     • A decent desk
The desk comes in a small box. Small for a desk this size. The desk top is a 3 piece splice design. I do not like slice tops but sometimes they are done well. I would say that the 3 piece design here is the only negative. You can feel the seams and the positioning of the seems will most likely be where you have your mouse. With a thick enough most pad or a hard pad, it won't be a problem. rating from 1-5 for splice implementation is a 2. Assembly is easy and on par with other ship to home electric desks. Instruction are clear and they also have video support for building. It should take more than 30 minutes, even if you are a through reader. The desk is sturdy enough and even sturdier when weighted with computer and desk items. It isn't flimsy, but it also isn't the most rigid and stable desk I have tried in recent memory. Finish of the materials is good. No marks, scuffs, or manufacturing scarring. The top finish is very resistant to showing fingerprints and scratches due to the choice of pattern and color. Motor power is good for a single. I like the side mounting position of the motor and is fairly unique compared to most units in the same tier. The motor functions fine and is reasonably quiet. Speed of the desk is good too. It is not going to go from max height to bottom in less than second, but who really needs that? I may raise and lower my desk 3-4 times in a work session. A few seconds is fine. Overall this is a good unit. If you can affords a single one piece top, I would go that route. If you prefer a splice top for packaging size this may be for you. At $300 though I would definately opt for a single piece top. ... show more

This electric desk by Jwx is nice, the motor works and it can hold a lot of weight. However, the instructions are not very clear and are difficult to follow, as none of the individual pieces are actually marked. They are marked within the paper instructions, but not the physical pieces. The wood and legs are well-constructed. No issues at all with appearance or functionality. All of the holes for the screws lined up perfectly as well. Also, when running the “initialization mode” it never did display “- - -.” Regardless, it works just fine. It reaches a nice height for standing and a comfortable height for sitting. Overall, this is a very nice desk, but the instructions just need to be a little clearer. ... show more

This is a budget electrically operated standing desk, so keep that in mind. It comes in a relatively small box with a 3 piece top. It assembles fairy easily and is sturdy enough for its intended use. Again, this is not a high quality piece of furniture, and does not have a high quality price. It operates smoothly and can be used at a wide range of heights for sitting and standing for individuals of varying heights. There are a TON of these types of desks out there so do your research to determine if this is the one for you. ... show more
