I purchased this for my 11-year-old granddaughter for Christmas and she was excited to realize that she and I would be doing it together. I can hardly wait to begin!     • Wonderful way to stay connected to granddaughters
My three granddaughters, age 10, all loved this Christmas gift! Since each of them really enjoys writing and reading, it was the perfect idea for our having a special way to communicate personal thoughts/memories. I waited to write my review so as to get a true sense of how this would evolve. We exchange our books at least once a month, and my only dismay is I fear we will run out of pages within a very short time! They will have a wonderful memory of this time in their life which they shared with me (their grandmother!). Highly recommend; good quality paper and construction. ... show more

I bought this for my mom and daughter to send back and forth through the mail. We were going to send a self-addressed, postage paid envelope with the book every time so that it could be just dropped in the mail box each time but the post office informed me today (after my daughter excitedly got it ready for it's first trip) that packages over a pound have to be sent priority which is too pricey and has to be done there. The book all by itself weighs just under a point, a single envelope for mailing tips it over the pound. So disappointed. The book has a really great cover, but that's it's downfall. It's really sturdy "cardboard" front and back, almost more of a thin particle board, but it's over the spine rather than a continuation...if that makes sense...I can't add more than one pic on here or I'd show you...anyway it results in a book that opens fully to write from either page anywhere in the book with a nice sturdy surface to write on. That's great but too heavy. If I could order a softcover book I would as this one can't be passed b/w them much in any cost effective way. Also, sometimes the questions touch the same topic, but aren't the same. Sometimes I get it...sometimes I feel like it throws the participants in different directions. Great book though. If I could mail it I would give it 28 stars. ... show more

I got this for my grandmother and I to write back and forth in. Though we didn’t get to use it for very long I was impressed with the layout and the questions within. I was able to ask her lots of questions and there is a lot of free space to write without questions as well which was nice.

I bought just between us: grandmother & granddaughter for my mom and daughter to journal in together. My daughter, as well as my mom, have always enjoyed writing and I knew this would be a great opportunity for them to share a part of their lives that they hadn't talked about before. I regret not knowing more about my own grandmother's life and I believe this will be a very positive experience for my daughter and my mom's relationship. I purchased this for my grandma for Christmas, I liked that it has stuff for both of us to complete and get to know each other better. My grandma thought it was a sweet and thoughtful gift and it will keep us busy with something to do together all year. (She’s 89 and I’m 26) I think it’s originally meant for more of a teenager but is suitable for any age, and can help bridge the gap between generations. It’s also nice to get to know your grandparents and have a record of it, something to read again and again. ... show more

One thing I specially like about this journal is that it includes a set of a rules for your grandparent and granddaughter. I bought this for family members who currently and have never been close. I'm hoping this will change their relationship and bring them closer together. It is full of interesting questions and things to write about did they know nothing about yet I got each other.
