I purchased this as gift for my 8 year old son. He absolutely loves it and plays with it every day. He likes to have it attack his Lincoln logs and army men. It definitely encourages pretend play and time off tablets. He even takes it outside sometimes.

My son loves this toy. He is 5.5 and very choosey with toys that keep him occupied. He has played with this for hours. Quality exceeded my expectations. We got it at a great price. Very happy with it. The volume isn't too obnoxious. You could probably put tape over it if it bothers you.

    • Great Tyrannosaurus Rex!!
So first I will start by saying this is (to the best of my knowledge) the most current version of the Rex in production. So after much research and selecting from the more affordable ones on Amazon (this and one other was $40 and another was $30), I decided on this one for several reasons. I think this one has very nice proportions. I feel even the tail looks about right in terms of length because the head does not look oversized. I also liked the fact it did not have an articulating neck. Other Rex have this as a feature and though it serves a purpose, I do not like the way it looks. On this figure, it is a smooth, non articulating neck which leaves room for better proportions and more detail in the sculpting. The teeth are not painted but part of the rubber sculpt. Also this figure has a nice stance that I like better than others. It seems more leveled out where other T-rex have a more slanted stance favoring the head to be high while the tail is low. So I really like this Rex. So I purchased this for my kids. They love it so much, it is their favorite. They are 3 years old. A bit of short history, I use to have the original JP red Tyrannosaurus rex. I gave it away to younger family when I was much older and before I had kids. Now having kids, I tried to get it back and they threw it away (Ugghh!!!). So I needed my kids to own a Jurassic Park T-rex in their live time, this will be around with us for as long as possible. ... show more
