I usually buy MJ Lighthouse glasses for around $200. I bought these Jim Halo as a backup pair after I broke my last MJ glasses in a theme park. After using these for a week I can say the quality is pleasantly surprising. I have both pairs now to compare. I took both pairs to the beach and noted that the MJ Lighthouse do have slightly better polarizing as expected, but it's not a huge difference. Certainly not 10x better as the price would imply. After years of wearing Maui Jim's, I was looking for an alternative to the high purchase price of getting a new pair. I found these on Amazon, and after reading the reviews and specs, thought I'd give them a shot. After a couple of weeks of wearing them, I am extremely pleased. They are very light and comfortable. The fit on my face couldn't be better, And, most importantly, the lenses have no discernable distortion! I was amazed! I could buy ten pairs of these sunglasses for the price of one pair of what I had been wearing for years. They seem to be well-built, but I'm tough on glasses. These things are super light. No idea how long they'll last, as I can't tell if they'd survive any real abuse. I'm not suggesting that they won't; it's just that as light as they are, it's hard to imagine them withstanding too much! I've dropped them a few times because when I perch them on top of my head, there's really no part of them that is "grabbing onto" my head. But when they're being worn as intended, they seem fine. Visual quality is good thus far. And they look a lot better in person than they do in the photos here (but maybe that's just because I'm wearing them?) ... show more

These are very similar to a few different Maui Jim sunglasses I've had, but at 1/10th of the price! Polarization makes time on the water better since they cut glare and I can see into the water better than if I had bought the non-polarized version. Highly recommended!

This Sunglasses is beautiful, light weight and very comfortable to ware but extremely easy to break. The lenses on my first first one crack after a year but I only used it about 5-6 times max. Re-order the 2nd pair came with a crack lenses so I was able to get a replacement. I give it another try to see how long the 3rd pair is going to last. ... show more

I have had a few pairs of the Maui Jim's that these are similar too but life happens and both pair were eventually destroyed. I loved the feel and stile but the $130+ price tag is a lot for sunglasses that get used and are lived in. I ordered these based on the reviews and the priceade it worth the gamble. So far I have been very happy with them. They are light weight and fit my giant head very well. The lenses are not as high a quality as the legit Maui jim's but for a tenth the price they are a far superior value. They are clear and well constructed and I'm very happy with them and if I break them I'll buy another pair in a heartbeat! ... show more
