I am a silversmith as a hobby and made my husband a pendent that the chain broke on. I wanted to find a chain that matched but that would also be sturdy enough to last. I picked this one because it is very strong (both because of the wheat pattern and the 4mm size) and has the look of patinaed silver. The length works well for him; it is 20" and most men's chains are 20-22". I soaked the chain in water and left it out to dry; I wanted to see if there was any color loss or change and there was not. I took the ends and pulled as hard as I could and was unable to break it. Even after twisting it and balling it up and carrying around in my pants pocket, it didn't tangle. The lobster clasp is plenty big that even with my husband's bear paw hands he is able to open and close it. He wears the cross I made him all the time, even in the shower and to sleep. There has been no discoloration on the chain nor on his skin. I am very happy with this chain; it looks a lot more expensive than it is.

Unfortunately, this was disappointing. The clasp broke the very first time I tried to put the necklace on, before I even had a chance to wear it out. The chain itself looked nice, but the clasp quality makes it unusable. Wouldn’t recommend unless the clasp design is improved.
