  • Fell apart after 5 months
Color: Blue
I use these several times a week for half an hour. Battery life is great. Sound is good. Overall I was very happy until they started to fall apart. I contacted JBL for warranty service. They are asking me to send them back and they will replace them with another pair but will only offer a 30 day warranty on the replacement. I don't see why I should be expected to forfeit 7 months of my 1 year warranty. Are they expecting the replacement to only last 5 months so they are cutting ties with me??? makes you wonder. Buyers beware of JBL. There are a lot of other similar headsets for sale at considerably let money perhaps a better option considering the quality and lack of a solid warranty policy. ... show more

  • Setup was kinda clunky but the quality negates that
5 stars for same day shipping alone but i digress....this is, after all, a product review. Setup wasn't quite as straight forward as the usual google assistant device but the quality....good heavens. Having assumed noise cancellation technology was a gimmick I was blown away by how well it worked. It completely negated the sound in my tiny room. (AC and Fan) I'm no audiophile but the sound quality was next level. To get everything going you have to install a separate JBL app. I'm not sure why the app reviews were so bad. It worked fine for me. I would definitely recommend these to anyone looking for smart headphones. Not sure who's fault this is but maybe put Google Assistant in the title. I only found these because of an article on Android Authority. Pro tip: After setting everything up and turning the proper assistant on (yes this is a manual step) the headphones still seemed wonky. It kept saying the assistant wasn't connected, etc. I did the usual turn off and turn back on and that seemed to fix everything. ... show more

  • POV in middle ground. NOT AN AUDIOPHILE.
Color: Black
Generally, there are three things the average customer would look for in wireless headphones. 1. Is there a lot of bass (generally the frequency most customers look towards)? 2. Does it have ANC (Active Noise Cancelling)? 3. Is it comfortable? Judging 650BTNC is subjective, as it requires the process of comparing with other wireless headphones within the same price point. I’m very enthusiastic about audio devices, especially when they’re headphones. I’m aware of what is good and bad, but I am not as strict as audiophiles. You can say I am in the middle ground of an average person and an audiophile. Let’s talking about question 1. Does it have a lot of bass? Honesty, bass is not always the key to music. Modern rap does utilize bass more frequently, but there are the Trebles, Highs, and Mids that need to be considered of. Everyone knows how overrated Beats were in the past, right? Well, the Studio 3s are pretty good. Just a little more pricey. Beats has been known for their “bass control” feature where they allow MORE bass to their headphones. In all honesty, it’s not much bass as they really say. Remember that all other frequencies must be considered rather than just bass alone. To be honest, the 650BTNCs are by far the best sounding wireless headphones in the $200 price range. These are JBL’s top-of-the-line headphones and I must say, the sound quality is capable of competing with Bose’s QC II and Sony’s XM3 when it comes to sound quality. Every aspect is mostly balanced and I find no distortion even when at max volume. The answer to question 2. To be honest, the Active Noise Cancelling is pretty disappointing. What the ANC system actually blocks out are lower frequency sounds outside of the headphones. Like bass for example. You can hit a table and the (shock) sound will be nullified nearly completely. But when someone speaks (can be High or Mid), voices can be heard, though a bit muffled. However, with me as a student, I actually find these to be convenient because these will lower the outside noises by a considerable amount while maintaining the music sound quality at a really good level. Say that you are in a basketball court and everyone is screaming, now think of the sound and cut the decibels to around 1/4 of its original value. That’s how much is nullified. But the ANC system does not completely block out sounds outside of the headphones and some sounds will leak through into the headphones. Answering question 3. Are these comfortable? These are extremely snug. The headband is stiff yet soft, but when worn for hours, the headband remains to be comfortable after being for hours. The earcups are the main reason why the headphones are snug. It’s the most tightest spot(s) within the headphones and yet, they remain comfortable after being worn for hours. But, these headphones generally feel uncomfortable after an hour of wear when wearing glasses. Trust me. These do not feel good to wear with glasses on. It sucks. Regardless of that, I’d say that the headphones are rather comfortable and I would wear these during airplane flights and such. Summary + Add-Ons: (+ = good, - = bad) + Sound quality is amazing, rivals top-line products from Sony, Bose, Beats, Sennheiser, etc. - ANC system is weak in mids and highs (for example; voices), does block a considerable amount of noise overall however. + Comfortable (w/o glasses) - Uncomfortable (w/ glasses) + Price is certainly cheaper than most top-line products (high quality) + Material does not feel cheap, everything is put firm + Can be controlled on app + Side controls are extremely easy, you just need to take a little bit of time to learn those controls + No distortion - Comes with a pouch, no soft/hard case + Latency is hardly noticeable on phone - Latency is noticed within games that require sound as a necessity - Battery life is slightly shorter than most headphones, so please be more aware of the battery + Charges decently quick ... show more

  • Great battery life
Build quality: 8/10 Sound quality: 7/10 Noise Cancelling: 7/10 Battery: 8/10 Dislikes: The inner cartilage of the ear touches the hard inner part of the headphones if not on exactly right. Kind of annoying and hurts sometimes but could be solved if adjusted. The headphones are a bit snug and can put pressure on the ear, might be a dealbreaker if you have a big head. ... show more

  • We both know you’re not an audiophile so stop looking and buy these.
Color: Black
I’ve traditionally used the regular apple earbuds to listen to all of my music so I would say I’m qualified to give an average person review of these headphones. Setting them up and connecting to my phone and the JBL app was dead simple as you would expect from any modern day product. I was immediately impressed with how comfortable they were. My (normal sized?) ears fit comfortably inside and with a little adjustment I didn’t feel any discomfort while wearing them. Upon startup the noise cancellation turns on and I almost gasped by the disappearance of the sounds coming from my dishwasher, central heating, along with the rain on the windows. Are they the best in the industry? I have no idea. BUT I’m very impressed and imagine anything better could only be marginal. Next up was the sound. These sound REALLY good. I would say they have a natural inclination towards bass, but I listened to everything from live James Taylor, to Skrillex, Childish Gambino and even a few podcasts. They all sounded immersive and as good as I could have hoped. I am very excited to revisit all my favorite tracks and hear them in new clarity. Now, never trust anyone who says something is perfect. With that in mind, my biggest complaint is the buttons on the right ear are not the easiest to discern between without really focusing on what your doing, and the buttons feel a little cheap. The headphones overall feel premium and sturdy but the buttons could be nicer. If you’re considering these just go click on the add to cart button and move on with your day. Maybe give your mom a call. She misses you. ... show more
