These are a STEAL for how beautiful they are. Truly crafted well, which isn’t to say that they are super sturdy. They are extremely delicate, and there is a particular charm about that. So, yes, they will break if you knock them about carelessly. But these aren’t meant to be durable. They are meant to be graceful. UPDATE AFTER ONE MONTH: The more I use these, the more I love them. The size is PERFECT. For comparison, I also purchased two other kinds of red wine glasses from Stötzle (“Grand Cuvée” and “Revolution”), and they were fine. But these ones diffused the most intense aroma by far! They are slightly smaller in terms of capacity than the Stötzle glasses, but I don’t mind since it clearly makes the wine drinking experience more sensorily enjoyable. I might add that very bulbous red wine glasses look a bit...pretentious, not to mention oddly proportioned (top-heavy?). So, even though these felt so thin and delicate, I decided to keep these and return the Stötzles. And you know what? They are deceptively sturdy. Despite the fact that they feel so lightweight in hand, and everything about them is so gracefully thin, THEY SURVIVE A LOT. I have had numerous instances where I was SURE that a bump or knock would have AT LEAST cracked one. But no. Flawless strength. Of course, they are glass, so you can’t drive a Land Rover on it, or hit it with a hammer and expect the hammer to just bounce back without breaking it. BUT, I am now a believer in the merits of titanium crystal glass - it really is a different kind of glass. You know how your sodium borosilicate French press is surprisingly sturdy for how thin it is? This is like that, only stronger! Which I say is deceptive, since it has almost as much clarity and brilliance as lead crystal, and we all know how absurdly fragile that stuff is. I have nothing but compliments to extol the merits of this glass. Beautiful, artfully crafted, makes wine smell better, comes exceptionally well packaged, delicate-feeling and shockingly strong. AND IT IS ECONOMICAL!! Buy them. UPDATE 2: After dinner, on Mother’s Day, I was washing dishes when I accidentally knocked one over onto my granite countertop. It was empty, and all who were present saw the cup part bounce against the countertop about three times. On the last bounce, it bumped against the one next to it, which also proceeded to tip over, only to bounce a few times. Neither of them broke! Miracle? Only the miracle of science. ... show more

I purchased these for myself and have loved using them! They are so beautiful and classy looking! They have a nice weight and feel great to hold. My cousin was over and kept commenting on how much she loved them. I decided to gift her a set as a housewarming gift since she and her husband just got a new place. Unfortunately, as she was opening the box, one of the glasses got stuck inside the packaging and then fell out and shattered. She was still happy with the 3 glasses though. But here’s where the seller went above and beyond. I contacted the seller asking if I could purchase a single glass so I could send it to my cousin. Instead, the seller sent her an entire new box! The glasses are very nice, but the bigger issue is the customer support. These glasses came with a 1 year protection plan. We had a dinner party and one of the glasses broke. Package came in quickly. The box was damaged and when I opened it, one of the glasses was broken. I could tell it was packed well but it can’t protect it from everyone. I sent an email to the JBHO and they sent me two to replace the one that broke. I think the replacement even came faster than the original order. Excellent customer service A+. As for the glasses themselves, I’m amazed at the quality and craftsmanship. They look excellent and have long stems. The glasswork is excellent. I knocked one over and it broke but it’s a crystal wine glass so it’s supposed to be thin walled (and made of glass). It doesn’t bounce like plastic does. I live these glasses and think anyone would. This is the fourth type of glasses I have bought from JBHO and I would rate them all the same. ... show more

I have been looking for a wine glass with a very slender stem and light weight base that is still durable. I found it. These glasses are beautiful to hold and elevate the wine drinking experience. The base and stem are not too heavy or at all clunky. They're delicate but durable. Beautiful. The opening is rather narrow, so wash with care. These are light weight, balanced and nice to handle but the crystal is far from perfect. The glass is full of ripples and imperfections. For an additional 20-30 dollars you can improve the quality 2 or 3 folds but for normal use for it to break eventually; they’re just right.
