My toddlers and I love these. Both this taro and the red bean variety. It's adorable hearing two year olds saying "mochiii". I used to buy them at World Market, but we are far from one now and I'm so glad to have found them on Amazon. I cut them in half and give one to the boys as dessert every now and then. I know they're not made in Japan, but it's as close as I can get to the real thing. Possibly they could be a little less sweet. ... show more

I just received my package, today is 9/29/2022. The box says the Mochi is best before 6/17/2022. It’s probably still edible but I’m not one to eat stuff after the expiration date. Overall, I’ve tasted this Mochi brand before and I do like the taste. Just sad I won’t be enjoying these.

    • smelled sour, made me sick
i don't know if i've ever had taro mochi before - as i've had other taro flavored things i decided to buy a box of this. it smelled a bit odd but i decided to try it anyway. the outside tasted fine but the center was different. i was trying to decide if i liked it and started feeling nauseated. horrible aftertaste lingers even half an hour later. i checked the date on the box and it doesn't expire for five months. the packaging was in tact and i bought other mochi from this same company but the taro one made me sick. i googled what taro mochi is supposed to smell like (because i figured the purple taro i've had before was probably artificial coloring) and taro mochi is supposed to smell sweet, not bitter or sour or off. ... show more

Not as pictured. Instead of the rich purple taro color they were a clear, light peach color that tasted like sugar water. Also very expensive. The same products are available in my local Asian food market for half the cost.

I have loved Mochi from the forst time i tried it and Taro Mochi is my favorite. This brand is always fresh, chewy, and flavorful. The order arrives in a timely manner every time.

    • Sweet and kind of savory!
These are so good! I’m a fan of Mochi but can only find the ice cream mochi where I live. I was sad that I had to share these with my husband. They smell like potato chips and have a slightly savory taste so if you’re looking for super sweet these are not it. I very much enjoyed it though.
