  • Most comfortable skates ever!
Size: Width: W-Wide (C/D) / Size: Adult 8.5 Style: Freestyle - Aspire
I skated as a teenager reaching freestyle 1-2, single jumps and spins. I outgrew my old Reidell skates and since I have a wide foot opted for these Jackson freestyle boots with the Aspire blade. I skated 3 times before I had the boot heat molded at my local rink. Absolutely, hands down, the most comfortable boot I’ve ever skated in. I used to skate on the eclipse cosmos blade w/ 7” rocker, so getting used to the 8” rocker on the Aspire took about 10 skating hours to get confident again. I recommend these 100% for ANYONE who ice skates whether you’re young and on the ice all the time, or the older ladies like me who haven’t skated in decades! I haven’t had any blisters, or even sore spots with these boots. I wear an 8.5 street shoe, and I measured my foot and the width and chose the 8.5C width for the boots and they are PERFECT! I’m not crazy about the blade and I’m thinking about upgrading to the legacy 7. But again, I’ve only skated for 10 hrs with these and I may find that they suit me just fine. ... show more

  • Sizing is similar to street not smaller!
Size: 9.5 Wide Style: Freestyle - Aspire
I just received these skates and they are beautiful! I repositioned my own blade because I know as an experienced skater what I need to do and where they should be- I gave it 4 stars out of 5 for 2 things. One is that these are supposed to be brand new out of the box and there were a ton of finger prints all over my blade. Obviously someone had tried these on and perhaps returned them- but they fit me like new skates so I’ll let it slide. Also and this is IMPORTANT!!! I read a lot of the questions and reviews of people saying that these skates are smaller than street size. THIS IS FALSE! If you are a size 9 street, you are a size 9 skate in these. In fact I would even get a size higher NOT lower in these skates! The pro shop measured my foot at 8 3/4 and I had to buy a 9.5 Jackson boot skate and it fits perfect- as a skate should fit - snug and to the tippy toe box... the q and a is misleading! Follow the size you are and go up one half- and if you have wide feet, get the wide and the heat mold done. It can add another quarter of an inch width with the heat which I had done. These skates are very durable and supportive but the low ankle in the back takes some getting used to. If you are tall like me it feels a bit like you are hanging out of your skate- it takes some getting used to- but these boots are super top of the line. Ankles are very stiff and will need to be punched out for comfort but that’s what you want when you are learning jumps and spins. A really nice mid level skate and blade here and the curve on the aspire blade is excellent- lots of room before the pick hits the ice. All in all I highly recommend these and it was a great deal for the price- the pro shop wants $330 for these exact skates and they don’t carry larger sizes so feel confident ordering these - just remember- they are similar to street shoe size- NOT smaller! I just came from a pair of Gams that were slightly too big although super comfy- these fit better and are no nonsense boots... so the sizes are snug even at the same size as street until you get them heat molded. If you want more room or room for growth get one half size bigger than you would! So if you’re an 8.5 street shoe, you need a 9 for roomy comfort. Trust me. Just went through nightmares at the pro shop not having my size which is why I resorted to buying these here online :) good luck and happy skating! ... show more

  • Runs big!
Size: Width: W-Wide (C/D) / Size: Adult 6 Style: Freestyle - Mark 2
Measurements are pretty accurate from what I can tell. You CANNOT compare these figure skates to street shoes as Jacksons seem to run on the larger side. My last figure skates (SP Teri which I got over 20 years ago!) were a size 6.5, however, they were custom made to fit my feet. Figure skates should fit snugly or else will breakdown quickly and make it harder to jump and spin. I usually wear a 7-7.5 in sneakers (an almost perfect 7 in traditional Converse sneakers) and ended up having to exchange the 6.5W skates for a 6W. I’m between an W and R so I stuck with the wide option. Break in time wasn’t too bad, but I’m only doing single jumps and spins - not attempting any doubles (those days are over!). Blades aren’t the greatest, but you can’t expect much with blades that already come mounted on the skates. Overall, as a returning skater who’s just skating for “funsies”, these skates have been a decent and comfortable option without having to pay a lot of $$$. ... show more

  • Found a wider ice skate!!
Size: Width: W-Wide (C/D) / Size: Adult 9 Style: Freestyle - Aspire
I finally found a pair of skates that fit my wide feet! I got the wide size in a 9 which is hard to find anywhere really but Jackson had them and in a wide size that actually fit my foot. When buying these please draw out your foot and do the measurements! Don’t guess. The wide is really a wide boot and may be too wide for a boot that is supposed to fit snugly. I love my new skates though. I even had enough room to put some orthopedic supination correction inserts with some arch support in them! They feel like heaven! I’ve had them heat molded now and they are perfect! Shipping was normal. Neither fast nor slow. Jackson makes a great skate and the Aspire blade is awesome! Probably more than I need right now but it sure does make a difference in how the ice feels. They do say they come sharpened but I had one sharp and one really wonky so needed to have them resharpened before I could get on the ice. They also come with just a few screws in place so you can see if you like the blade placement before you add the rest. Be aware you can do simple things on them like this like striding and basics. But you’ll need the rest of the screws placed to do more than that. But check your blades out before you get them screwed in. You may want something different. Mine were fine though. I live my Jackson’s and I’m sure you will too! ... show more
