Just bought a home and wasted money on absolute monstrosity of a book case from IKEA, that was horrendous. Did my homework and pulled the trigger on this. Setup definitely took some time but the directions made sense and the finished product really ties my living room together. Tremendously sturdy once it’s all put together, I also didn’t attach the final cross members and did not screw it into the wall which are the final two steps. If you’re leaning this against a wall, you really don’t need to do the final two steps. Have a ton of books on this thing and it’s stable as a rock. This bookcase came via FedEx, they were not kind to the box. The back brackets were sticking out and looked like Deadpool’s swords. Fortunately the actual bookcase was not damaged. It weighs about 65 pounds, you may need help moving it. The instructions are mostly clear, the hardware comes in individual labeled bags. The wooden parts have a letter sticker on them. There are screw in adjustable feet, but when I got it together it did not need adjusting. The shelves have dowels and screws, I added a bit of glue to the dowels to strengthen. All of the holes lined up really well. When I let the company know that their boxes need reinforcement, they were very responsive. The dimensions in the description are exact. ... show more

Took my wife and I about 1.5 hrs to build. Not terrible considering the size. Looks great in person and has a ton of space. If your looking to anchor this into a stud be aware that the legs are not 16" on center. However every other leg is 32" on center, so you can anchor 1&3 or 2&4 to a stud so it is extra secure. ... show more

First of all this is a sturdy and beautiful product. My main gripe is the hardware. The vast majority of the screws are a small, obscure hex. They do not provide one, so I hope you have a good collection of bits. They are also poor quality. I used a hand screw driver and they warped so much at the head I had to pry out the bit with pliers every time. The wall anchors are standard Phillips head and they DO provide a screw driver for that. It's honestly the dumbest thing I've ever seen. The feet are poorly machined. One of my foot screws got stuck and will neither go in nor out. Finally the middle shelf pieces were incorrectly labeled. BUT the final piece has no wiggle, is functional, good price point, and looks great assembled. Just be ready to spend a good amount of effort getting it together. ... show more

I was looking for a modern yet rustic shelf for my books. I have transitioned my dining room into my library and wanted a lot of shelves to break the Books into categories and decorate at the same time. I love this shelf, especially the center section where books are angled. It gives the shelf a good dimensional look. It took me a few hours to install… but I did it by myself… it wasn’t difficult at all and the instructions were very detailed and all pierces were marked with numbers for easy installation. So worth the hurt of my fingers from using that little L shaped tool. By the end of me putting it together it was fairly simple to assemble and the instructions were okay. But the overall in the end is perfect. Bought it to replace the TV stand as I don’t watch tv anymore. I mostly read now. But I bought this to organize my apartment better. This was a great addition to my home! I highly recommend wearing work gloves when assembling to protect your hands! But would definitely recommend you buy this.
