I was skeptical about them working as a "normal" spool of thread, and IF the bobbins would fit my type of machine... I was HAPPY to see they did! Only issue was that thread suddenly emptied and had to rethread machine.. I had trouble finding the "end", it was wrapped into the spool... so I would rate for the money, its a good value, but wont replace my better thread. The Thread and pre wound Bobbins work great in my new Brother Embroidery Sewing Machine. The colors are wonderful and the Bobbins are very convenient. I had absolutely no breaking of threads while making a Doll Blanket. To find the end of the Thread Spools, just look at the Thread Spools, and there is one Thread that is no evenly aligned with the others. Take a pin and pull it out and that is your Thread Starter. I was attracted to the wide variety of colors. However, as a novice sewer, I found out that this thread is meant for horizontal spool use, not vertical (on my Brother machine). Additionally, I found it incredibly difficult to find where the thread began; I had to tear it apart and then, of course, wasted much thread to get to a usable part. I researched a better thread and found out that it is much more expensive than what I bought here. I am going to return it and wait for the better product. ... show more
