These are fantastic shoes that I didn't know I had been looking for my whole life. When I was a kid my mom used to yell at me for stepping on the back of my because, she thought, I was too lazy to put them all the way on. But the truth was that I thought they looked a little bit cooler and more nonchalant that way, depending on the shoe. And now they have made a shoe where I can do that intentionally! Or I can easily just pull the elastic backs on and voila they would be worn in the proper mom approved way. The style overall is retro vintage, very flat bottom. Not as flat as a ballet shoe bottom but as close as one can get in a sneaker. Once moved on from my "super high heel" stage, I realized that grounding was a real thing. Basically the idea that optimal health and mental clarity can be achieved by spending as much time as possible barefoot with your feet touching the earth. However If you must wear shoes, the closer to the ground the soles of your feet are, you can still pick up the grounding effects of the Earth's energy and electricity. "grounding" has become more and more of a thing. The barefoot athletic shoes definitely give me tons more energy than super cushy marshmallow sneakers absorb rather than rebound your stride energy so you feel like you're walking in sand. There are a lot of barefoot style running sneakers out there (All in the big name brands make them) but I have yet to see sneakers that have an almost flat sole AND have good style. The design gives the cute appearance of ballet flats while providing the comfort and support of casual sneakers. The material feels soft and breathable, making them ideal for long walks, travel days, driving, errands, or all-day outings. These charming slippers caught my eye because of their simplicity and eye catching color. It's so necessary to have a pair of shoes that are as easy as slip ons and as cute as buttons. The top of the slippers are made of a both a velvety (top and toe) and a nylon fabric (sides of the slippers). The part of the shoe that holds the shoe strings are velvety, as is the back of the shoe. I can tell someone enjoyed designing these. There are pretty red shoestrings, and also delicate red nylon ribbons for a fun effect. The shoe bottom is a sturdy rubber material with a design that grips the surface you're walking on. There's a cute white strip around the heel of the shoe that extends partway up the side of the show on both sides of the foot. I ordered a size 8 which fits snugly with no room to spare. The shoes are a pretty blend of crimson, candy and cherry red (they may look more pink due to the lighting in my room). These shoes were a very pleasant surprise. They look even more cute in person. The description says grey but they are a very very light grey, mostly white, which I prefer. They are super soft and feel great on the foot. The comfort factor is important to me because no matter how cute the shoe is, if it's not comfortable I won't end up wearing it. So I was so happy when I slipped these on and felt how squishy and soft the inside was. It's also a very lightweight shoe. I normally wear a size 6.5-7 and since they said to order a half size up if in between sizes, I ordered the 7 and it fit perfectly. I'm very happy with these shoes and can't wait to wear them all the time. Highly recommend! ... show more
