Bought this thinking I could use it to help with inputting midi horn parts into my DAW. After reading a lot of mixed reviews and very few about the midi capabilities of this instrument, I was very pleasantly surprised when I connected it to my recording system, via wireless midi no less, that the tracking is excellent. I find NO perceptible lag or latency, even though I know that will change under load. One thing someone else mentioned that’s kind of annoying is that you can’t mute the onboard speaker while using a virtual instrument. I may open it up and disconnect it as my only intended use is with a daw. The onboard sounds are kinda meh. Ok if you just want a portable solution and the sounds aren’t being used for recording. Kinda cheapish, but that’s not what I bought it for. Also, the sensitivity to velocity is a little lacking. Almost like it was preset from the factory to work at a lower velocity scale. Instead of 0-127, it’s like it’s set from say, 60-100. Also not a deal breaker as I can compensate for that in my daw. All in all, if you are a midi musician who either plays a wind instrument (trumpet in my case) or someone who would like yo try alternate ways of inputting midi dat, take this for a drive. It’s fun, usable, in my case anyway, and best of all CHEAP! If you know your way around midi, need something like this for less than your right arm, get it. Glad I did. $90 is crazy.😮 ... show more

This thing works great for what it is. Still haven't used the midi function but you can get a great range by changing the pressure. My problem is that the fingering is all off. They state that it's "flute" fingerings, but it's really a recorder. I played flute for years and this is not the traditional flute you would learn in school. The item even calls it a "dizi" in the options, which is an uncommon variation of flute. I was hoping to use my fingerings knowledge of the standard flute for this, but I can't. Also, why it's a shame that the scales change with each instrument option. For example, I was hoping the fingering of a C would be universal when changing the instrument. It's not; a C will suddenly become a Gb with the same fingerings if you switch to a different instrument sound. ... show more

I am happy that i did... I highly enjoy(ed) tinkering around with it. ➽ The INGPARTNER i8-Pro: My review is based mostly on the basic use of the instrument and the features that I used. ⦁ The first few weeks after I got this instrument I had a hard time putting it down... It was almost like an addiction... ⦁ I played it, played it, and played it and became familiar with the fingering and some of the settings, I enjoyed every minute of it. I tried every preset over and over, then found my favorite presets, adjusted them to the way that I liked them, and saved them. It was a fun experience, indeed. ➽ Quality / Connections / Feature(s): ⦁ It seems to be well made and even though it's made out from plastic it didn't feel like it was a fragile device. It actually seems durable. The quality is decent. ⦁ There are a handful of inputs and output, some I've used and some I haven't just yet. I haven't tried it the midi yet as I need to replace a bad power supply on my music PC and I haven't tried the Bluetooth feature yet either. ⦁ Through my Guitar Rig: I did try the 1/4" output through my guitar set-up and It was so Awesome, no doubt. I used different effects & the sound was off the hook. It was very interesting . I came up with a lot different sounds and textures, it was a great experience etc. Beyond fun. ⦁ If you ever get the chance to try it through a guitar set-up and I highly recommend it, you'll have a blast for sure. ➽ Price at Time of Review: $94.00 ➽ Dislikes / Issues: ⦁ While this instrument is entertaining, isn't without flaws and glitches. ⦁ The screen isn't viewable while playing it and it sure would be nice if it was designed so that you could see it while playing. ✪➽ OVER-ALL: ⦁ For me, I found this instrument to be addictive & I had a hard time putting down, to take a break. It's got a bit of a learning curve at first but it does get easier to use the interface after a short time. There were a few glitches with the interface and while playing the sound cut-out..
