A NJB (nice Jewish book) by a real NJB (nice Jewish boy) is underselling this beaut! Absolutely wonderful! Have already used several of Jake’s recipes from his previous cookbook (Jewish) that resulted in the best kugel and brisket I’ve ever had, so the moment he announced this book, I knew I had to have it. It came today and is filled with such amazing photos, mini-essays, and of course glorious recipes that I trust will become staples at our table.   • Every recipe is a hit!
This cookbook is not only a beautiful book to look at but every recipe we have made has been absolutely delicious. The challah is simple to make and was perfect-sweet and doughy. His wings were some of the best we’ve ever had. The chicken soup less chicken was one of the best roast chickens I’ve ever made.   • Come for the Seinfeld References, Stay for a Nosh
I preordered Jake’s cookbook to ensure it would arrive it in time for Rosh Hashanah. I made his sweet potato hummus as an appetizer, which was a huge hit with my guests! Can’t wait to work my way through this book, especially since I can hear the recipes in Jake’s voice. :-)

I preordered this book as soon as I knew it existed and it did not disappoint! It’s full of recipes that are a beautiful blend of tradition with fun modernization. I own both of Jake’s books and every recipe I’ve made from either has been delicious and a huge hit to anyone who tasted it.

I love following Jake on social media and this modern take on classic Jewish delicacies is exactly what my family needs before the holidays!
