Hu Gems Chocolate Chips have officially become my favorite chocolate. The flavor is rich and smooth without being overly sweet, and the texture is perfect, creamy with just the right amount of snap. You can truly taste the quality. I love that they’re made with simple, clean ingredients, and the fact that they’re vegan is a huge bonus. They feel like an indulgent treat without any of the sugar rush or crash! I mostly enjoy them as a little evening treat straight from the bag (no baking required!), but they’d be amazing in cookies or sprinkled over yogurt too. If you’re looking for a better-for-you chocolate that doesn’t sacrifice taste, this is it! I like to freeze them and just eat a handful mixed with nuts! I absolutely love these little Gems but they are no longer available from m local store. I can pop a few without feeling guilty because they are much lower in sugar and are made with high quality cacoa. If you are used to sugary milk chocolate they will take getting used to. They are also small enough to use in baking, which is a plus. One bag lasts me a long time (but I only snack on them once in a while). ... show more

The chocolate melted and it’s one big awkward clump. These are my favorite but in this condition, it doesn’t appear safe to eat. Tried to get a replacement (or a refund), but the automated system states that isn’t possible.

If you’re thinking these probably taste like a fake chocolate chip, you’re right. They are fine, and probably will taste fine in a chocolate chip cookie, but if you’re a chocolate lover and are just trying something new for the heck of it, these don’t compare to the real thing. The texture is pretty good, and the melt in your mouth quality is close, but these chips have a deep flavor much fruitier than traditional dark chocolate. The flavor is pleasant and a good substitute if you can’t have the real thing, but if you CAN have the real thing, these chips likely won’t satisfy your craving. ... show more
