  • Good but
I like it, it's good and covers the dollhouse like I wanted but I've yet to find a good way to cut it so the edges aren't furry.

  • Too hard to make this stuff look decent. I would not use it again. It's simply not worth the time and trouble.
Buying this siding was a matter of economics--it's way cheaper than wood. However, I had to seal it, then prime it, and sand it between every coat, so I guess you could say I put a lot of "swear equity" into it. It still didn't come out nice and smooth like wood, but it's passable. Good thing I tried a little piece first so I could experiment. This stuff gets "furry" if you don't seal it. Also, I did a lot of research online and discovered this stuff gets "furry" if you don't seal it; also it should not be sanded until after the first coat of paint. On the other hand, I did find that I could glue it on the dollhouse with Aileen's tacky glue, which doesn't have nasty fumes, so I didn't have to go outside and work on the back porch. I applied the glue in a zig-zag pattern and held the siding on with masking tape. Pluses: it is not too hard to cut with a craft knife--a mat knife works pretty well. I sawed most of it with my mini table saw, which did NOT like the MDF at all and kept bucking. I didn't have any problem with warping, but I read that MDF can get become mushy if you use a glue with a high moisture content. Bottom line: I would not use it again. It's simply not worth the time and trouble. Next time I'll either use real wood siding (lots of $$$), or resort to STUCCO! Actually, board and batten looks pretty good, and there's not a lot of cutting to do. ... show more

  • Not for amateur dollhouse builder
My mistake in buying this. Though great product, not for the rookie dollhouse builder. Came in sheets not individual slats so thick and hard to cut. Will need proper tools which I don’t have. So because of many Windows could not use without great amounts of frustration.
