I've seen some reviews that mention 'rough' and 'scratchy'. I'm pretty sure they did not get the same sheet sets that I've bought. We purchased a new bed a little over a year ago and wanted to try bamboo sheets because we heard that they're cool. It gets hot and humid in Hawaii and I'm a hot sleeper. The mattress company tried to sell us their bamboo sheets, but they were $200. $100 if we bought with the bed. We declined and purchased a bamboo sheet set from 'Cosy House'. They were a disappointment. Not at all what I expected from bamboo sheets. 400 threadcount cotton is more comfortable than those. Then I saw these on Amazon. They were less than the cost of the sheets at the bed company (if we bought with the bed). I read the reviews and decided to try them. The sheets are very soft, smooth and are shiny on one side. They are HEAVY! Much heavier than cotton. Despite their weight, they are VERY cool to sleep on and under. If you dry them in a dryer, they come out wrinkle free. My wife washes the sheets a couple times a week and likes to hang dry the laundry, but even though it comes off the line with wrinkles from the clothespins, the wrinkles disappear after the first night's sleep. You cannot feel the wrinkles even on the first night's sleep. Our daughter has a queen size bed just like ours (our old bed actually) and she had a favorite sheet set. One day, we found that she made her bed with our spare HSD bamboo set (shucks! she found them!). Well... when my wife told her to strip the bedding so that she could wash the sheets our daughter replied. "I don't want you to wash the sheets! You're going to make my bed with the old sheets!". Oh well... check Amazon for a special offer at Hotel Sheets Direct (again)! They are strong and durable. When I make the bed, I deliberately tug on the corners hard to pull out the wrinkles (from line drying and to see if the sheets feel like they'll tear). They don't even come close to tearing. I'm pretty sure I would tear most cotton sheets. I perspire when I sleep. My perspiration stains most pillowcases. These pillowcases have not stained at all. Maybe because my wife washes them every other day. But that's a testament of how durable the material is too! You can't tell that (my) pillowcase has been washed twice as much as the sheets. The other thing I like about the pillowcases is that it's not just a 'sleeve' for the pillow. There's a pocket on the opening end of the pillowcase that you can tuck the pillow into. This hides the end of the pillow (in my case, the extra pillowcase to absorb my sweat). It's just a nice detail that I have not seen often. I've seen reviews that wish the company made duvet covers. They do! I purchased a duvet cover with a pair of sham covers and am very happy with them. The quality of these products are the same as the sheets. I also saw a review that said that the customer was charged a customs fee. I've purchased five sheet sets and a duvet / sham set (not because they've worn out or tore; I took advantage of special offers that were too good to pass up). For all six sets, I was never charged any customs fee and I'll remind you, we live in Hawaii. Amazon is our best friend! The company ships the sheets very quickly after you place the order. If you're patient, they have offers that are ridiculously good. You can get a set of these luxurious sheets for less that a cheap set of cotton/poly sheets at Walmart! ....But you have to be patient and watch for the specials... I hope this review helps any of you that are one the fence about buying these sheets. I CANNOT recommend them highly enough! We will sleep on nothing else... ever again...!!! ... show more

For the price, I give these sheets five stars. Before the first wash they felt stiff and scratchy, but they softened up nicely after washing. They are very comfortable to sleep in. I bought these in the winter and the sheets almost made me too cold in my 62° bedroom. (I like it cold). I think that they do actually have a cooling effect. I run hot, and I don't feel like these sheets suffocate me. I have not used them in summer yet, so we'll see if they maintain their cooling effects when it's hot. As far as the stitching goes, it's okay. There were a bunch of loose threads I had to cut off and the heming could be better. They wrinkle very easily. But I'm looking for comfort, not aesthetic. I would buy another set of these because I do like them. ... show more

Fit great even after wash, and come out softer than any other sheets we’ve ever had. I’m cold natured and a sweatbox when I sleep, but these manage to keep me warm and cool at the same time. They are wrinkle-resistant, and don’t bunch up at the edges or create textured feeling, but not totally wrinkle-free (which would require a synthetic fiber content that feels icky and holds heat). Not crisp, starchy wrinkle-free, if that’s what you’re after. We’re not. The pillowcases are built with an inside flange that conceals the end of the pillow and holds it in place - such a nice detail. Absolutely love, and highly recommend this set! ... show more

I ordered these, because I'm dealing with menopause hot flashes and alot of people said these are "cool" sheets. Well... they feel very cold at first but after a while, I get just as hot as I have with any other sheets. So I will not say these are "cooling" sheets but I will say they are very soft and seem to be heavy duty. I actually didn't like them at first because they looked shiny and slippery but after I've washed them...omg! They are super soft and comfy. It's been a year or so since getting these sheets. It's quite literally the equivalent of flipping your pillow to the cold side but bigger and it's great! The spot you do lay on will be cold for a moment but warm up enough to keep you comfy. If you move around, the sheets will be cold. I will say it's much colder when you're in a cold environment - but it stays pretty cool in warm areas. It was our preferred bedsheet for summer. I bought these for my guest room and loved them so much I just ordered 2 more for my own bed. They're so soft and silky and great for cooling. The company has good customer service too; my first order was missing the two pillow cases. They responded to my email within a few hours and immediately shipped me another full set free of charge. The day the bedding arrived, I washed them, and dressed my bed immediately. The fitted sheet went on so easily, without pulling or trying to make it tuck easily with ample material underneath my mattress. It fit perfectly. The top sheet had ample material to tuck under the foot of my mattress and had enough material to fold down over my spread at the head of my bed. The pillow cases had an envelope like pocket so that the whole pillow was encased. That feature I totally loved. Needless to say, I am pleased with this product so far. It may take several more machine washes to see if this product continues to grow into my fondness sheet set. They are super soft and cool . I have a 12 inch mattress with the adjustable frame and they don’t come off the corners , which is a plus . They are a big difference having the 100% bamboo than a a mix fabric bamboo . I bought the mattress protector and duvet cover and just absolutely love them ! They are not wrinkle free tho which sucks, but I would buy these again in a minute if they weren’t so expensive ! ... show more
