Got these for my guy, 15HH Quarter Horse. The large seems a bit big but they are a good fit. The medium were way too tight, is what I initially bought. I usually buy shoe flies but I wanted to save some money since he goes through boots so quickly so I decided to try these. They seem okay but only time will tell how they hold up. Four stars for now as they seem well made but definitely not the best quality, and I will update after we make it through the summer with them. ... show more

I really like these so far, I previously bought brand name which are more expensive. These seem to be just as well made. We will see how they hold up all summer but so far so good

    • Way too loose a fit. The hook & loop sections are just too small to fit tightly.

It really comes down to the fit on your horses legs the way the Velcro is used. They’re very thin strips so you can only close them to a certain diameter which was very large and left big gaps easy for flies to get into these really don’t do much unless you have a horse with extremely thick stocky legs. Otherwise these are a complete waste of time for the 99%. If you look at some of the pictures you’ll see how baggy and loose they are that doesn’t keep flies off. It just means they have to enter from the top opening. If they would use larger hook and loop sections, you could wrap the boot tighter, but you can only close it so tight because of the small sizes of the Velcro hook and loop. Look for “turnout socks“ they are a lot better a much tighter fit, and also breathable. ... show more

These fly boots work well for the fronts. For some reason, my horses do not tolerate these on their hind legs at all. That said, the flies and mosquitoes are awful in my area and these do a nice job of keeping them off the horses’ legs. They stay up nicely and haven’t lost their shape in the last month that we’ve used them. So far, they’ve been a great addition to our fly combat gear. ... show more

They do help. They fit okay and seem to stay up well. The mesh is tight and protects the area it covers from flies, which are especially bad this year. These seem to provide comfort from these pests and the horse doesn’t mind wearing them.

When I say these fly boots should be mandatory for any horse owner, I mean it! These fly boots are super nice, very well-made and a great quality which as a horse owner, do you need some thing that holds up! The netting is perfect for breathability for my horse and she has not been able to take off any of the boots went out at pasture all day. The Velcro super nicely and have a very clean look. I would 100% recommend these to any horse owner! The worse I use them on is a 16 hand When I say these fly boots should be mandatory for any horse owner, I mean it! These fly boots are super nice, very well-made and of great quality which as a horse owner, you need some thing that holds up!
