Since I purchase this software I had someone else to call the Tech Support twice for assistance for the same problem, the toolbars blanks out and I was unable to bring it back. Currently (3rd) time I have the same issue, which I haven't call for assistance myself because of your office hours, I had to asked another individual to call on my behalf, don't want to explain. I like this design software, but the recurring problem with the toolbars are a pain. Not a happy camper. It would be unfair for me to rate this program as I would like to. Lacks sufficient tech support. Does not include user manuals (Can be printed separately at significant cost). Not for the technologically challenged. Take note of the significant computer requirements. Anything less than the recommended capabilities (i.e., minimum requirements) will make this program pretty useless. ... show more

    • Powerful But Expect an Intense Learning Curve

As noted in a prior review, Amazon sells the 2021 version of this program and nowhere in the description is it noted as such. However, also thanks to the prior review, I contacted Chief Architect and within 30 minutes I had the latest version added to my account. If you want to avoid this situation, buy direct from Chief Architect, as the price is the same and you will get the latest version up front. As for the software itself. I have a background in computer programming, as well as construction and architectural drafting. With this past experience, I found the software to be fully loaded with the features and details required to produce professional results. That being said, even with my background I find that it is challenging in regards to jumping right in and knocking out a project. Because the program attempts to cover every aspect or need we may have for any situation, the variables required for each task could have dozens of choices or defaults required to attain the desired result. This leads to a lot of study within the Help and on-line videos that are available. However, there is also an on-line user group forum that you can join to learn and share information. Basically, the support that is available to you is immense. Best advice - Be Patient and set up several "Test" projects to play around with and get familiar with the available tools. You will need to spend a lot of time in this "training" mode before you start a real project. If you just jump right into your intended project, expect a lot of rework and frustration. If you are already familiar with CAD drawing, you will be ahead of the game somewhat. However, you will still need some time to get up to speed with navigation and possibly some terminology. I am a month in on this now and have a long way to go. But, I am already getting comfortable with the navigation and knowing which tools do what. Like anything worth your time and interest, practice makes perfect. And finally, I cannot say enough about their Customer Support. Polite, responsive and exceeded my expectations. ... show more
