To be up front from the start, this is my first pair of Hokas so I can’t compare to older versions or models. I used to run and swore by ASICS. The older I get, the more content I am with walking versus running. My ASICS (mainly Kayanos) didn’t feel cushioned anymore after little use. I wasn’t sure if they changed the quality of material (like everything else these days) or if my body is changing as I get older. I decided to jump on the Hoka train and see what all the fuss was about. I went to Dicks and tried on the Brooks line, which is comparable to ASICS in my opinion. I tried on the Ghost model and the Adrenaline. I then tried on the Hoka Clifton 9 and it seemed like a no brainer as soon as I tried them on. I have been using them for 3-6 mile walks so far and I love them. They feel like a shock absorbing cloud. I don’t feel the pound of the hard pavement and feel like I could walk forever in them. After 4 months, they’re still feeling great! The toe box is a bit wide so I tightened the top of the shoe a bit. It works fine for me! I love these shoes and will be purchasing more in the future! ... show more

I wear a 7 1/2 and ordered a 7 1/2. I was able to use my heel inserts wearing thin socks for xtra comfort. The tops look wide but the relief I feel walking my dog outweigh the look. Very comfy.

I have had trouble walking for a few years now. I could never find the right shoe thinking. It was my legs, my knee, my hips. But then I was told to try these shoes out and I am on a fixed budget and I couldn’t afford them, so I said yeah no. And couple months later I said the heck with that I have got to try them. I need something to help me walk. Two weeks after having these shoes I was walking my dog for a block something I have not been able to do for a very long time I don’t care the expense.
