Description

Concertinas play a strongly established role in the world of accordions. Because of their small size and low weight they have always been a hit among musicians who are often on the road. They are, of course, also very well established in family music at home, and it is impressive what great range of sounds these instruments can produce! Comes with fitted padded bag, they love travelling and have to be adequately protected.

  • Excellent concertina for the price.
I was somewhat wary due to some of the reviews saying the C button sticks and such. I decided to order this anyway, and I’m delighted. The price is a bit high by maybe 30 bucks, but the quality seems fine to me. It can be played quietly and can be quite loud if you want to play it that way. This is my favorite “cheap” instrument in the house by miles. I highly recommend this little concertina. ... show more

  • poorly assembled
It sounds okay, but after playing it a couple hours the day it arrive a button is already sticking. If I can't trust it when preforming it's not worth keeping.

  • Concertina
I recently purchased this Hohner concertina, and this little device is abnormally habit forming. It's very nicely in tune, and once it's broke in a bit, plays very well. I have yet to have a single issue with it, except for one of the buttons having a tad bit of trouble pressing down. Other than that, it's an inexpensive and fun instrument. 4 stars were given, because of the issue with the button, and the fact that it was made in China. Additionally, the Chinese crafters were so proud of their work, that they laser etched MADE IN CHINA onto the instrument, and there isn't anything you can do about it, except look at it and cry. ... show more

  • So far so good
So far so good! I received my accordion on time and I play it several days a week. The buttons don’t stick and the hand-operated bellows work just fine. And it has a very nice sound, too. The only drawback is that it only plays in the Key of C Major and G Major. You’ll need to transpose other keys to the key of C and G with this concertina. I do it all the time with my single key diatonic harmonicas. If you want to play the full chromatic scale in all keys, you’ll need to purchase a 30 plus button concertina. This concertina is made in China, but no pretense is made about that. It’s written on the box in big bold letters and on the instrument itself. If the instrument begins to falter, I make an addendum to my review. But, so far so good! Just an update, as of 12/17/16 the concertina is still going strong with regular weekly playing. ... show more

  • cheaplly made, tone ok.
This concertina is Chinese made and shows it. I don't know how long it will hold up but from the looks I wouldn't expect much, buy something else if you can.

  • Good value
Good instrument for the price. Buttons do stick a little. It’s a good instrument for learning. EDIT: The buttons stick too much , I change my review, 3 stars.

  • I hate this thing
I read some of the other reviews saying that the buttons stick, but I figured I'd try my luck since it seems like a fun instrument, and this was the only affordable one I could find. What a piece of crap. I had only played it a few times, gently, and several of the buttons started sticking. You might not realize how infuriating this is just from reading my review, but I assure you, it sucks. I have to stop playing every few notes to unstick the buttons, which is especially enraging since I'm trying to learn as a beginner. I almost have pop goes the weasel figured out, and then the high G sticks and I want to throw it against the wall! ... show more

  • My thoughts after 2 months
Great fun, had lots of stuck button issues at first but ever since i put some sewing machine oil on the keys i havent had a stuck button since. Its not hard to do at all, all you need is a screwdriver. The reeds sound great (to me, a novice).
